The Opportunity
As the Finanical Analysis Manager, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work under minimal supervision to establish, delegate and/or complete priorities

The Team
The Black & Veatch Federal Business is grounded in history and engineering the future. We have 100+ years of experience supporting the Federal government and are dedicated to employing talented and passionate professionals. Our vision is to be the greatest infrastructure solutions provider delivering top tier and high-quality design and engineering services to the Federal government. Our primary areas of focus include: Architecture/Engineering (A/E) and Classified Design Services, Construction Designer of Record (DOR) Services, Environmental Services, and Integrated (multi subcontract) Services.
Typical client base includes Department of Defense (DOD), United States Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) and many private companies in the Federal arena where Black & Veatch frequently teams for project execution in joint venture (JV) roles or utilizes a sub/prime contracting arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis:
  • Directs, prepares and interprets analysis of financial data
  • Provides complex analysis and recommendations primarily to internal clients
  • May include identifying areas of concern, recommendations and support of implementation

Financial Reporting:
  • Directs the preparation of and reviews financial reports
  • Recommend and implement alternative reporting solutions

Financial Planning:
  • Coordinates, develops and interprets components of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Prepares budget/forecast presentation and other documentation
  • Supports analysis and review of key business drivers, pricing, product mix, profit center analysis, pro formas and evaluation of the risk profile of the division

Financial Tool and Model Development:
  • Develops and directs development of financial tools and models used for budgeting, forecasting, trend analysis and strategic planning
  • Has advanced level of enterprise-wide business systems knowledge to provide direction to obtain and analyze appropriate data in the most efficient manner

Management Structure:
  • Advise and implement system modifications for business structure changes and may provide suitable business options
  • May coordinate updates with Financial Applications and Business Process team

Primary Internal Clients:
  • Primary internal clients are Senior Vice Presidents, Vice Presidents, Associate Vice Presidents, Department Heads, Finance Directors, Senior Finance Managers and Finance Managers

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Typically 7+ years related experience
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of FAR and CAS preferred
  • Knowledge of Government Overhead Rates preferred
  • Knowledge of Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint) Intermediate (Excel) Advanced
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access, Basic
  • Knowledge of Black & Veatch Systems, Advanced
  • Knowledge of percent complete accounting
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Financial Statements

Assigned to projects for U.S. Government Agency/Department clients. Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen.
