Job description

C.H. Robinson is currently seeking a Senior External Communications Manager who will execute innovative and effective integrated communications efforts. We are looking for someone with experience in product marketing, technology marketing, or technology public relations beyond transferable communications skills, with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical products into clear, compelling narratives.

You will advise our leaders and connect all employees to our strategy and vision, while driving brand awareness, strengthening corporate reputation, managing media relations, and generating leads. Critical to your success is possessing excellent written and verbal communication skills across a variety of channels, experience partnering with senior leaders, and a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally (e.g., Marketing, HR, Business). You will develop innovative and robust external communications, PR and media relations plans, produce creative and engaging content, build audiences, connect with influencers, manage social media, and ensure seamless cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to develop and execute integrated communications strategies aligned to business objectives
  • Create clear, compelling messaging and high-impact, cross-channel content that drives awareness, engagement, and action across internal and external audiences
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, providing a strategic communications lens to initiatives and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Lead complex communications initiatives and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring effective and timely execution
  • Leverage data and insights to inform strategy, optimize content, and improve audience engagement
  • Enhance and evolve communication channels, processes, and storytelling approaches to elevate overall effectiveness
  • Manage crisis and sensitive communications, ensuring thoughtful, timely responses that protect company reputation
  • Develop customer-centric narratives that highlight impact and strengthen connection to C.H. Robinson's value
  • Drive external communications efforts, including media relations, thought leadership, and content across PR, social, digital, and event channels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media and influencers, proactively identifying opportunities to increase visibility and coverage
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of communications experience and proven track record of successfully communicating to large audiences to inspire change and enhance engagement
  • Strong copywriting and sharp, error-free editing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in technology or product marketing and/or public relations
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Compensation Range

$77,200.00 - $122,300.00
