Job Overview

The Event Manager will be responsible for coordinating activities associated with the daily meetings, managing labor assigned to Events and interfacing with customers to ensure deliverables are understood and met. The individual will coordinate operations necessary to carry out event responsibilities of the company including all necessary supervision, vendor and supply contact, customer relations and other supervisory responsibilities.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Provide a high quality of service to the customers.

  • Multitasking medium and high-level events with leadership and high-level users.

  • Maintain timelines, process documents, and other organizational tactics.

  • Ensures events meet budgetary goals on a sustaining basis.

  • Plans and develops work schedules to ensure adequate service.

  • Procure and coordinate vendor services to support onsite events.

  • Audits and maintains inventories supplies and equipment.

  • Inspect event aspects to ensure they conform to the event needs.

  • Create specialized floor plans and coordinate event setup/take down.

  • Ensure that event set-ups/take downs are completed timely, accurately, safely, and efficiently.

  • Ensure rooms are operational by conducting daily and weekly checks.

  • Maintain and update event data and distribute to the appropriate teams.

  • Responsible for contacting end users for missing or conflicting information.

  • Work collaboratively with company leadership and other vendor management to understand what venues, clients, and coworkers consider a successful event.

  • Onboard, train, and mentor event staff; routinely assess their performance.

  • Provide training to staff and community partners who use the Event Management.

  • Provide guidance in resolving issues.

  • Comply with company safety rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Stops at risk behavior of others and self.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and/ or Experience

High school diploma / GED

4 years relevant experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver's license

Must complete all safety and task training certifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Customer service, problem solving, time management, project management, planning, excellent communication, presentation, interviewing, coaching and training skills.

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint

Must be able to read basic floor plans. Ability to change tasks or assignments outside normal duties. Work in a team environment

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, and directing work; performance evaluations; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensure employees are properly trained on tasks and safety requirements.
