About Lucid

At Lucid, we are creating exceptional mobility experiences through innovation to drive the world forward. Built on Lucids proprietary technology and software-defined vehicle architecture, our award-winning vehicles bring our Compromise Nothing approach to the global automotive market. That means refusing to choose between performance and sustainability, design and engineering, ambition and integrity. In Lucid Air and Lucid Gravity, we have designed and built vehicles that have redefined their segments, combining exceptional range, performance, design, and expansive space in a single experience.

We achieve this through deep vertical integration, with design, engineering, and production happening in-house across our global offices and manufacturing facilities. Our teams come from industries around the world, united by a shared commitment to excellence. By refusing to settle, you can help redefine whats possible and shape the future of mobility.

The Manager, Facilities Engineering is responsible for overseeing facility infrastructure across all Lucid Motors corporate facilities in California, Arizona, and Michigan. This role leads the Facilities Engineering team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems. The team provides technical knowledge and expertise to drive engineering activities related to the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations of facility infrastructure. The position also serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electrical engineering activities and provides technical supervision for facility projects from concept through commissioning.   This position will manage a team of three technicians and one mechanical engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilities Engineering Leadership

  • Lead all aspects of facility infrastructure management, including planning, design, construction, maintenance, and operations across multiple states.
  • Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of MEP systems and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades to meet evolving operational needs across California, Arizona, and Michigan sites while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) for optimized facility performance.
  • Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact.
  • Respond to technical emergencies and resolve equipment failures promptly to maintain business continuity.

Technical Supervision & SME Role

  • Serve as SME for electrical engineering activities, supporting project management from concept through commissioning.
  • Provide feasibility studies, bid evaluations, design reviews, and construction support for facility projects.
  • Perform electrical system design and analysis, including load flow, short circuit, and arc flash studies using ETAP.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other applicable codes and standards.

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday.
  • Occasional evening and weekend work required to support critical maintenance or emergency response.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, or a related technical field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in facilities engineering, building infrastructure, or plant engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Strong expertise in the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems within manufacturing, industrial, corporate, or mission-critical environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, including medium- and low-voltage infrastructure, power monitoring systems, and building management systems (BMS).
  • Hands-on experience performing or overseeing electrical system studies, including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash analysis using ETAP or similar software.
  • Proven experience managing facility infrastructure projects from concept, design, and procurement through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience developing preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve system reliability, equipment life, and operational efficiency.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, budgets, schedules, contractors, consultants, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience identifying and implementing energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost-reduction initiatives across facility operations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex facility and infrastructure issues.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring engineering teams and providing technical guidance across diverse projects and locations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and CMMS platforms; experience with BMS and EPMS systems preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
  • Ability to travel periodically between California, Arizona, and Michigan facilities as business needs require.
