Job description

Ambulatory Informatics Analyst - FT

Summary: Will promote most effective use of Meditech Expanse capabilities in the Ambulatory environment.

Essential Functions including but not limited to:

1. Act as an internal consultant to hospital staff and physicians in development and implementation of Meditech's functionality.

2. Monitor clinic processes and report to the management team on issues that require additional support or special attention.

3. Work with core team of managers to keep schedule on track and up to quality required for use compliant with federal and state rules for the meaningful use of EMR systems.

4. Train new clinic staff and retrain existing staff in use of Expanse software, updates and new functionality.

5. Assist clinic staff to resolve issues or problems in use of the Expanse software.

6. Identify and document Ambulatory apps issues reporting same to Meditech within its procedures and making formal requests for action.

7. Track and follow up on requests to Meditech escalating issues to higher levels as needed.

8. Participate in audits and reviews of security risks consistent with HIPAA for protection of PHI and work collaboratively with others to resolve issues and develop improved practices.

9. Troubleshoot and resolve routine problems with software and when necessary referring those problems to Meditech for resolution

10. Write reports in various Meditech report-writing modules (RW, RD, BCA, DR)

11. Conduct periodic meetings with staff to share information updates and obtain employee feedback and participation.


Qualifications and Education:

1. Must have BS or BA in Business, Management, Clinical focus area, or relevant field as well as at least 3 years experience in Clinical apps ideally in hospital setting where Meditech or comparable software was used. Will consider someone with Associates Degree in Business, IT, or Clinical focus area but with substantially longer experience than 3 years.

2. Familiarity with HIPAA and with hospital based policies and procedures is essential

3. Experience using Microsoft Windows and its Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) and researching problems or questions on internet. SQL experience is a plus.
