EHS Lead Auditor / Client Manager
Independent Contractor | United States | Up to 100% Travel
Are you a fully qualified EHS auditor and true road warrior who thrives on variety, autonomy, and helping organizations improve?
We're seeking experienced contract EHS Lead Auditors to conduct management system assessments for clients across the United States. Candidates may live anywhere in the U.S.; however, preference will be given to professionals based in or near: Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Michigan, or the New Jersey region.
This is an external contractor opportunity requiring extensive domestic travel. Candidates must already be fully qualified and ready to independently conduct assessments.
What You'll Do:
  • Conduct onsite management system assessments against ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, with ISO 9001 experience highly desirable
  • Plan and manage assessments, travel, reporting, and client communication
  • Deliver clear findings and corrective-action guidance
  • Make certification recommendations in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Manage assigned client relationships and provide a consistently high-quality experience
  • Lead assessment teams when required
  • Complete accurate, timely, and professional assessment reports

What You'll Bring:
  • Current, fully qualified Lead Auditor status
  • Demonstrated qualification and audit experience in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • ISO 9001 qualification or experience preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant Environmental, Health and Safety or Occupational Safety experience
  • Strong knowledge of management system auditing practices
  • Excellent client-facing, written, and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to independently manage a demanding travel and assessment schedule
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and professionalism
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel by air or automobile
  • Spanish, Portuguese, or French language skills are a plus

Travel Requirement
Up to 100% domestic travel is required. This opportunity is best suited for an experienced road warrior who is comfortable traveling frequently, adapting to changing schedules, and working independently at client sites nationwide.
