Development Project Manager


As a Development Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing project management, design, and analytical civil engineering expertise for a wide range of Development and other civil infrastructure projects. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and design projects in compliance with applicable processes, codes and standards, while meeting customer specifications. This will require your ability to produce, review, or manage the production of design and construction documents for projects, from conceptualization to final construction. You will be an integral part of feasibility studies, designs, and reports, and you will be responsible for preparing, implementing, and assessing contract documents. In addition, you will lead design teams throughout all phases of the project, from bidding to completion, utilizing your leadership skills and technical knowledge to deliver high-quality results.


SUMMARY

Under general supervision of a Team Leader, a Development Project Manager is responsible for project management and engineering design tasks, including detailed calculations, plan preparation and review, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, technical specification writing, inspections, CAD and other tasks as may be required.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:


  • Serve as Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Client contact on projects.
  • Participate in Business Development activities.
  • Sign and seal engineering work performed by you or that is performed under your direct supervision.
  • Research design options codes and regulations applicable to the project and provide schematic level and preliminary designs while working closely with other team members.
  • Provide detailed final designs and produce mark-ups to incorporate in drawings.
  • Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design.
  • Produce engineering reports and plans.
  • May serve as a designated Client contact on some projects.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and prepare engineer's estimates for projects.
  • Coordinate directly with Surveyors on project surveying.
  • Coordinate directly with CAD Designers activities.
  • Coordinate work with outside consultants.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and/or Microstation software to prepare engineering design documents and basic drawings.
  • Perform field activities during design and/or construction such as observe and record existing field conditions, take and verify measurements within project area as necessary.
  • Prepare construction specifications for various types of projects.
  • Review shop drawings and material certifications.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited four-year college or university. Hold a Professional Engineering License in the State of Missouri, or obtain one within six months of employment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Riding and/or driving in a vehicle is commonly required for up to 6 hours at a time.


POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, with a minimum expectation of 40 hours per week. However, most work weeks will be 40 or more hours. Hours are somewhat flexible and some late evenings and/or weekends may be required.


TRAVEL
There may be occasional overnight travel for this position. Some local day travel may also be required.


SKILLS AND MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/LICENSING

  • Professional Engineering License in states as required for projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil and/or MicroStation
  • Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
