Job description

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with Client Managers and Office Project Managers for initial scoping, budget development, work plan development, proposals and cost estimates, with an understanding of objectives to achieve project closure.
  • Direct and manage all on-site activities, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications, plans, and quality control standards for vapor intrusion projects.
  • Monitor daily progress and schedule, communicate any issues to the Client Manager & Office Project Manager; ensure work is performed efficiently to stay within budget.
  • Maintain safety standards and requirements at all times for entire crew, including reporting of incidents, near misses, and leading daily tailgate meetings.
  • Complete and/or oversee sampling and analytical data evaluation for a variety of media, including air, water, groundwater, and soil.
  • Serve as a leader during field activities with junior scientists/technicians.
  • Assist with reporting tasks, including ensuring all necessary field documentation is compiled and taking detailed field notes.
  • Provide oversight and complete documentation of subcontractor activities.
  • Provide troubleshooting and maintenance of mechanical and electronic systems including pumps, remediation systems, and monitoring equipment.
  • Effectively and professionally interact with co-workers, clients, vendors, and other business contacts.
  • Travel up to 60% via driving a company vehicle.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | COMPETENCIES:

  • Knowledge of risk based corrective action processes, specifically as it relates to vapor intrusion characterization, remediation, and mitigation.
  • Familiarity with a variety of vapor intrusion remediation technologies, as well as active and passive vapor mitigation systems.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, design & construction plans, as-builts, and piping & instrumentation diagrams.
  • Capable of managing deadline-driven projects and workload.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to prepare detailed reports.
  • Requires effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
  • This employee will be required to demonstrate continued knowledge of HAZWOPER and OSHA regulations and requirements.
  • Must demonstrate general knowledge of operations and ability to safely operate assigned equipment.
  • Able to wear full respirator.
  • Able to meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Ability to communicate with a variety of different personalities with different communication styles.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time position that will do work in both an office and field environment. This position is also on call for Emergency Response work and must have flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. This position will have utilization (billable hours) requirements.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • For insurability purposes a valid Driver's License is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Engineering, or similar field.
  • Five (5) years environmental project management experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Ten (10) years environmental project management experience preferred.
  • CAD skills preferred.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certified strongly preferred.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | OTHER DUTIES:

Perform other duties as assigned.

VI FIELD PROJECT MANAGER | WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in both a professional office environment and uncontrolled atmosphere. Exposure to harsh conditions such as: dust, fumes, chemicals, hazardous materials, noise, and varying weather and temperatures for long periods of time is possible. All employees are required to follow safety standards and wear all personal protective equipment in designated areas. Work outdoors in all weather conditions; extreme heat, cold, dry or wet environment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 80% of time in the Field, 20% in Office is to be expected.

FIELD SERVICES PROJECT MANAGER | PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. Ability to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds. Sitting 50%, standing/walking 50%.

SUMMARY

EWI is actively growing their vapor intrusion service line and looking for an experienced Vapor Intrusion Project Manager to oversee VI projects onsite. Vapor Intrusion Project Manager will communicate effectively with Client Managers and office Project Managers to help scope work, handle field logistics, coordinate with subcontractors, oversee pilot testing, construction, QC testing, and OM&M. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while strictly adhering to all environmental regulations and project specifications.

PAY RANGE | Contingent on Location and Experience

$65,000 - $145,000
