Job description

We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead our enterprise risk management initiatives and help protect our people, assets, and business operations.

This position plays a critical role in minimizing organizational risk through proactive management of workers' compensation, general liability, auto liability, property claims, insurance programs, safety initiatives, and compliance. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, and passionate about creating a culture of safety and accountability.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the company's Workers' Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, Property, and other insurance claims from inception through resolution.
  • Partner with insurance carriers, third-party administrators (TPAs), brokers, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely claim resolution.
  • Analyze claims data and trends to identify opportunities for reducing losses and improving operational performance.
  • Develop and implement company-wide risk management strategies and loss prevention initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Human Resources, Safety, Payroll, and Legal departments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Monitor OSHA compliance and assist with workplace safety programs and incident investigations.
  • Coordinate annual insurance renewals and assist with policy administration.
  • Review contracts and certificates of insurance to ensure appropriate risk transfer.
  • Manage accident reporting procedures and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Prepare executive reports and dashboards regarding claim activity, reserve analysis, loss trends, and key performance indicators.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of significant incidents and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support business acquisitions, new store openings, and other strategic initiatives by evaluating potential risk exposures.
  • Develop training materials for field leadership regarding accident prevention, reporting procedures, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Safety, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive risk management, insurance, claims administration, or corporate safety experience.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation and liability claims in a multi-location environment.
  • Restaurant, retail, hospitality, franchise, or other high-volume service industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation laws, and general liability practices.
  • Experience working with insurance carriers, TPAs, brokers, and legal counsel.
  • Experience working within a Captive to process claims
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting claims and loss data.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with insurance Risk Management Information System (RIMS) Origami.
  • Experience processing surety bonds.
  • Experience managing fleet vehicles
