Role Summary / Purpose:
This Vice President, Enterprise Risk role is a key member of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team. Primary responsibilities include managing execution of the enterprise-wide Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) program and planning, coordinating, and tracking of the Risk function budget. The role also leads the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Enterprise Metric Policy. In addition, the role supports other core ERM processes, including the Enterprise Risk Assessment (ERA), Risk Aggregation & Reporting (RAR), and risk oversight of Strategic Initiatives.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of the Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) program, which centers around defining risk tolerance across risk categories/pillars and establishing risk limits to monitor and measure performance relative to the enterprise risk appetite.
Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Enterprise Metric Policy, including defining policy requirements, establishing governance and controls, and monitoring adherence across risk pillars and relevant business/governance stakeholders.
Facilitate periodic review, update, and approval of the Risk Appetite Statements in partnership with risk pillars and relevant stakeholders.
Advise risk pillars on structuring and designing risk metrics, including Risk Appetite Limits (RALs), Escalation Triggers (ETs), Front Line Triggers, and other Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
Ensure risk limits, where feasible, function as forward-looking, leading risk indicators and provide effective early-warning indication of elevated risk.
Develop accurate and timely Risk Appetite performance reporting (including committee materials), ensuring breaches are documented, actioned, tracked, and escalated in accordance with governance requirements.
Manage the Workiva platform for the RAS program; leverage Workiva to coordinate data collection/review and perform automated controls for quarterly RAS reporting.
Enhance control oversight by executing quality control reviews and documenting data sourcing and data accuracy controls supporting RAS metric outputs.
Maintain RAS governance documentation and controls (e.g., non-model tool inventory/documentation, procedures, data dictionary, job aids) and ensure Workiva-related IT requirements are met.
Communicate RAS changes to business leaders in a timely manner and refresh all RAS governance documentation at least annually (or more frequently, as needed).
Partner across Risk Pillars and the broader business to ensure an aggregated enterprise view of risk is coordinated, aligned, and understood.
Lead the review and annual submission of the Risk Management Operating Plan and Functional Budget.
Develop reporting for the Risk Functional Budget, including tracking project expenses and headcount.
Support Risk team accounts payable activities (e.g., cost center approver updates, point of contact for cost center use, purchase orders, and invoice tracking).
Partner with Finance to provide periodic Operating Plan pacing updates and variance insights.
Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Broad-based risk knowledge; ability to identify and assess risks, document mitigating controls, and evaluate control environment adequacy.
Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry; or, in lieu of a degree, 10+ years of financial services experience.
3+ years of experience with exposure to risk management within the consumer financial services industry.
3+ years of experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
3+ years of experience working in a matrixed environment, leading projects and presenting results and insights to senior leaders.
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:
Experience in internal audit, risk management, testing/monitoring, and/or a governance function.
Experience leading a financial or risk-related reporting process, including development of analytical capabilities using Tableau, Power BI, and/or GRC tools.
Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and use personal influence and credibility to achieve results across business functions, sales platforms, risk pillars/teams, and technical resources.
Ability to objectively identify risks, define appropriate measures/metrics, and effectively challenge and communicate risk across pillars and the broader organization.

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
