POSITION SUMMARY

Join our team as a CNC Machinist and become part of a precision-driven environment at the forefront of aerospace, defense, and fiber optics manufacturing. In this role, you will set up, operate, and maintain CNC and milling machines to produce high-quality, precision components. You'll work alongside a skilled, growing team pushing the boundaries of advanced manufacturing, where every part counts and attention to detail drives success.


We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • 5-Axis Milling - setting up and operating multi-axis mills for complex, precision components.
  • Horizontal Machining Centers - programming and running horizontal mills to tight tolerances.

SHIFTS/HOURS

  • 1st Shift - Weekdays: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (40 hours per week)
  • 2nd Shift - Weekday Overnight: Sunday-Thursday, 6:00 PM - 2:30 AM (40 hours per week) - 15% shift differential pay
  • 3rd Shift - Weekend Day: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM (36 hours per week) - 20% shift differential pay
  • 4th Shift - Weekend Overnight: Thursday-Saturday, 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (36 hours per week) - 25% shift differential pay


ITAR REQUIREMENTS

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Produce high-quality parts to specifications, ensuring precision down to .0002".
  • Set up, machine, and inspect required operations to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Utilize machines, tooling, fixtures, and inspection equipment correctly and efficiently.
  • Deburr and finish components to a high standard of quality.
  • Identify potential issues and suggest solutions to improve workflow, efficiency, and quality.
  • Meet or exceed established time and quality benchmarks.
  • Develop and implement effective machining methods and processes.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced machinists to enhance their machining, inspection, and problem-solving skills (as applicable).
  • Seeks out additional duties as needed.

Requirements

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform basic tasks in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong work ethic and self-motivation with minimal supervision required.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze and solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating on cross-functional teams to ensure timely, high-quality production.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn new skills and concepts.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of a Machine Tool Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred, along with relevant hands-on experience. Candidates with significant related work experience in lieu of formal education will also be considered. Training may be provided for individuals who demonstrate a strong ability to learn and solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient on manual and CNC mills and lathes, including hand filing and deburring.
  • Experience setting up tools, fixtures, and selecting appropriate inspection equipment.
  • Capable of interpreting drawings, blueprints, and specifications, GD&T preferred.
  • Proficient in using a variety of measuring and inspection tools to assess part quality and resolve process issues.
  • Knowledge of CNC programming and fully utilizing all CNC control functions.
  • Strong commitment to safety culture; prioritizes safety before every task.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position is on the production floor and involves regular exposure to active manufacturing areas. 
  • Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and composite or steel-toe shoes, must be worn as required. 
  • The work environment is a clean, climate-controlled facility with modern equipment and a safety-first culture. Ambient conditions include typical plant lighting and machinery operation. 


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk on level surfaces throughout the workday. 
  • Use hands and fingers to handle tools, controls, and objects. 
  • Reach with hands and arms, including above shoulder height and below the waist. 
  • Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, or crawl as needed. 
  • Talk and hear to communicate effectively. 
  • Lift, slide, and carry up to 50 lbs using proper techniques. 
  • Comfortable working in small or confined spaces while following established safety protocols.
