Position Overview

This role manages a team of software engineers responsible for building and evolving an AI platform that will be leveraged across the company's product suite to accelerate innovation and deliver intelligent, AI-powered experiences for customers. You will be responsible for the technical execution, operational efficiency, and overall health of the team's engineering output, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions. As an engineering leader, you will partner closely with our Product teams to define and execute the technical strategy for AI platform capabilities, cloud infrastructure, and developer-facing services. You will foster a high-performing, collaborative team environment, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvements in engineering practices, product quality, and delivery effectiveness. This role requires strong technical leadership, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to navigate emerging technologies in the rapidly evolving AI landscape. Success in this role requires building strong partnerships with engineering and product teams across both the United States and the Czech Republic, ensuring effective cross-functional and cross-geography collaboration while delivering impactful platform capabilities that can be adopted throughout the organization.

  • Lead and manage an engineering team, ensuring alignment with product and business goals.
  • Own the overall health, scalability, and quality of products within the team’s domain.
  • Drive technical execution and delivery of high-quality, scalable software solutions.
  • Empower and unblock the team by establishing efficient execution and operational processes, ensuring high velocity and impactful delivery.
  • Facilitate and continuously improve team processes, including development, planning, oncall rotations, bug triage, and metrics review.

  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards.

  • Manage team capacity and resource planning, ensuring the right talent is allocated to meet project goals.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies, applying relevant innovations to enhance team effectiveness.

Education and Experience

  • BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with 1+ years in a management role.
  • Strong hands-on technical background in software development, including experience building and maintaining applications using .NET and C#.
  • Hands-on experience designing, developing, and operating cloud-based solutions in AWS, with a solid understanding of modern cloud architecture, scalability, security, and operational best practices.
  • Experience building applications that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, including integrating AI services, large language models (LLMs), machine learning capabilities, or other intelligent features into customer-facing or internal applications.
  • Experience working in agile development environments and driving process improvements.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across Product, Design, and Business functions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to change, and a curious, growth-oriented mindset.

Physical requirements

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
