Job description

Overview

The Microcircuit Emulation Center at SRI International (formerly Sarnoff Corporation) is looking for a Research Scientist, electron beam lithography to support the development of electron beam lithography for manufacturing of microcircuits (integrated circuits). Through SRI's Generalized Emulation of Microcircuits (GEM) and Advanced Microcircuit Emulation (AME) programs, the Microcircuit Emulation Center supplies form, fit, function, and interface replacements for obsolete microcircuits. This capability supports production, redesign, and sustainment requirements for the life of a weapon system. SRI's Microcircuit Emulation Center is a government-supported, U.S.-based Trusted foundry. This role is onsite at our Princeton, NJ office.  LOOK AT OUR WORK!

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an interest in learning about integrated circuit manufacturing and how electron-beam lithography can support the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities will include:

  • E-beam development to complement the existing MEC microcircuit manufacturing processing capabilities.
  • Develop electron-beam lithography processes (wafer coat, exposure and development) to support full-wafer, low-volume, wafer fabrication for legacy microcircuits.
  • Sustaining, improving, and optimizing electron-beam lithography processing to increase throughput for legacy microcircuits.
  • Working with cross functional teams (Engineering, Integration, Design and Layout) to develop processes and integrate into the current production wafer processing capabilities.
  • Data collection, correlation, interpretation, and presentation of information to management and co-workers.
Qualifications
  • B.S. chemistry, physics, electrical engineering, or an equivalent field required.
  • Due to Government requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Experienced with electron-beam lithography theory, data perpetration and process development required.
  • Past use of JEOL electron beam systems and GenISys Beamer data preparation software is desired.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and to document solutions.
  • Demonstrated analytical and systematic teamwork approach to troubleshooting.
  • Must be able to work in a clean room environment up to 75% of the workday and perform flexible shift work when required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to describe ongoing work and discuss issues include creating PowerPoints and presenting analysis.
  • Able to work on site Monday - Friday, starting at 8:30am, with an 8-hour workday.

The salary range is: $63,873-$84,636. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program. SRI also has a competitive benefits package, to view details please go to https://www.sri.com/resources/benefits/. SRI will accept applications until the position is filled.
