What You Will Do:

The Electrochemistry Consultant will support a team of skilled researchers to help drive advancements in electrochemical research for the Department ofDefense.As part of our team,you'llserve as a strategic technical advisor to program managers at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), advising on advanced government-funded research and development programs.You'llwork with world-class scientists and engineers to provide strategic assessments of emerging technologies. You willmaintainresponsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs,assistingwith the management of current programs, andfacilitatingthe transition of program deliverables to DoD stakeholders.

What You Will Need:

  • Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD "SECRET" security clearance; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of clearance prior to onboarding withGuidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE "SECRET" or higher-level clearance are preferred.

  • Master's degree

  • FIVE (5) or more years' experience in electrochemistry; including but not limited to:

    • Designing, building, and testing electrochemical systems in an R&D environment

    • Experience with electrocatalysis, reaction engineering, or inorganic/physical chemistry

    • Experience working with advanced materials, catalysts, and electrode architectures

    • Experience authoring and presenting technical reports, proposals, and program documentation

    • Experience managing or contributing to complex technical programs with defined timelines and budgets

    • Experience transitioning laboratory-scale technologies toward field or pilot-scale applications

What Would Be NiceToHave:

  • An ACTIVE and MAINTAINED "TOP SECRET/SCI (TS/SCI)" Federal or DoD security clearance

  • Master's degree with THREE (3) or more years of professional experience

  • Ph.D. degree in a STEM field with zero years of professional experience

  • Experience performing or supporting government-sponsored research activities

  • Experience with:

    • Electrocatalysis for small molecule conversion (e.g., nitrogen, oxygen, carbon species)

    • Electrolyzers, fuel cells, or electrochemical reactors

    • Integration of electrochemical systems with renewable or variable power sources

  • Knowledge of systems involving nitrogen, carbon, or oxygen electrochemistry is highly desirable

  • Experience leading and coordinating teams ofdifferent experienceand technical backgrounds

  • Prior experience working with DARPA

  • Knowledge of the DoD program/project development process

  • Experience in transitioning products and or capabilities toDoD-stakeholders

  • Ability to work on tasks quickly, independently, and collaboratively in a team atmosphere

  • Possession of outstanding attention to detail

  • Possession of clear and succinct oral, visual, and written communication skills
