What You Will Be Doing
As the HR Generalist you will work as part of our team to provide support and exemplary customer service to our employees and supervisors. This is a true generalist role where you will be responsible for all areas of HR for your assigned departments including recruitment, facilitating new hire orientation, benefits administration, FMLA/ADA/Workers’ Compensation, employee relations, performance management and compensation. You will have the opportunity to be involved in projects that impact our employee culture such as job fairs, various recruitment initiatives, DEI&B initiatives, and agency committees. If you are an enthusiastic individual who is team oriented with a passion for all things HR and want to work for a mission driven agency focused on improving the mental health and wellbeing of our community—this may be a perfect match!  This is a hybrid position with the ability to work remotely up to 2 days per week.

What We Require
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field with a minimum of two years of HR experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required. HR Certification strongly desired (PHR/SHRM-CP). We are looking for someone who has strong customer service, organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and is detail oriented. You will need to have experience with MS Office programs as well as using an HRIS system (UKG Ready experience preferred). Prior experience with recruitment, ATS systems and sourcing CRM software. Knowledge of labor laws including FLSA, FMLA, and ADA. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and comfortable presenting to small groups. Salary will be commensurate with education and years of HR experience. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:                                              

Physical Efforts – Job demands include prolonged sitting and standing as appropriate.  May occasionally require light lifting up to 25 pounds, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or bending as appropriate.  Requires coordination of hands and/or eye/hand/foot.

Working Conditions – Office environment with noise from computers, copy machine, and telephones.  Use of computer for periods in excess of 30 minutes at a time.  Possible eyestrain from extended periods of viewing computer monitor.  May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, and parasites.  Travel throughout the Kalamazoo area is required.
