Job description

District Manager

CKJ Management, LLC | Burger King

Develop Leaders. Grow Restaurants.

At CKJ Management, LLC, we believe great restaurants are built by great General Managers—and great General Managers are built by exceptional District Managers.

As a District Manager, you will do more than oversee multiple Burger King restaurants. You will develop leaders, strengthen teams, improve operations, and help each restaurant reach its full potential.

You will have the opportunity to influence hundreds of employees, serve thousands of guests, and drive the performance of an important part of our business.

If you are an experienced multi-unit leader who enjoys developing people, solving problems, and building successful restaurants, we would love to meet you.

This is more than restaurant supervision.

This is leadership at scale.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

At CKJ Management, we believe our District Managers should have the trust, support, and resources necessary to lead effectively.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • Travel compensation
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities
  • Paid vacation
  • Health benefits
  • Leadership development and ongoing training
  • Opportunities for advancement within a growing organization
  • The ability to lead and influence multiple businesses
  • Direct access to senior company leadership
  • A culture built on accountability, respect, teamwork, and results
  • The opportunity to develop future General Managers, District Managers, and company leaders

We expect a great deal from our leaders, but we also invest in their success.

Your Mission

Your mission is to build strong General Managers who operate clean, profitable, well-staffed restaurants that deliver excellent guest experiences.

You will set clear expectations, coach your leaders, remove obstacles, and hold each restaurant accountable for results.

You will know your people.

You will know your restaurants.

You will know your numbers.

Most importantly, you will help your General Managers become stronger, more confident business leaders.

What You’ll Do

As a District Manager, you will:

  • Lead and support a group of Burger King restaurants
  • Coach, mentor, and develop Restaurant General Managers
  • Build strong leadership pipelines within each restaurant
  • Recruit and retain high-quality management talent
  • Establish clear performance expectations and follow through consistently
  • Drive sales, profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence
  • Analyze restaurant financial statements and key performance indicators
  • Improve labor management, food cost, inventory control, and controllable expenses
  • Ensure restaurants meet food safety, cleanliness, service, and brand standards
  • Conduct productive restaurant visits focused on coaching and improvement
  • Develop action plans for underperforming restaurants and leaders
  • Recognize strong performance and celebrate team success
  • Partner with company leadership to execute operational priorities
  • Protect the company’s people, guests, assets, and reputation

You will balance support with accountability and urgency with thoughtful leadership.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a leader who develops people—not someone who simply points out problems.

Our ideal District Manager is:

  • Passionate about coaching and developing leaders
  • Experienced in multi-unit restaurant operations
  • Financially and operationally disciplined
  • Positive, energetic, and resilient
  • Comfortable holding others accountable
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize effectively
  • A strong communicator who builds trust
  • Skilled at identifying the root cause of performance issues
  • Decisive and calm under pressure
  • Competitive and results-oriented
  • Willing to work alongside restaurant teams when needed
  • Committed to doing the right thing, even when it is difficult

Previous multi-unit restaurant leadership experience is strongly preferred.

Experience developing General Managers and improving underperforming restaurants is especially valuable.

What Success Looks Like

Successful District Managers at CKJ Management:

  • Build confident, capable, and accountable General Managers
  • Maintain strong management staffing throughout their district
  • Create restaurants where employees want to work
  • Improve guest satisfaction and restaurant execution
  • Deliver consistent sales and profitability growth
  • Reduce turnover by building strong restaurant cultures
  • Respond quickly to operational challenges
  • Develop internal candidates for future leadership opportunities
  • Use data to make better business decisions
  • Create lasting improvement—not temporary fixes
  • Take ownership of the district’s overall performance

The goal is not to personally solve every problem.

The goal is to build leaders who can.

How You’ll Lead

Our District Managers are expected to lead through:

Coaching

Ask the right questions, provide clear direction, and help General Managers build the skills to solve problems independently.

Accountability

Set clear expectations, inspect what matters, and follow through consistently.

Recognition

Celebrate progress, acknowledge strong performance, and make sure great work is noticed.

Communication

Keep restaurant leaders informed, aligned, and focused on the priorities that matter most.

Example

Model the energy, professionalism, urgency, and integrity you expect from others.

Your leadership should be felt even when you are not physically inside the restaurant.

Own the Business

As a District Manager, you will be responsible for understanding the complete performance of your district.

That includes:

  • Sales trends
  • Restaurant profitability
  • Labor productivity
  • Food and paper costs
  • Inventory and waste
  • Staffing and turnover
  • Guest satisfaction
  • Speed of service
  • Food safety and cleanliness
  • Maintenance and restaurant conditions
  • Leadership development

You will help each General Manager understand not only what their numbers are, but what actions are driving them.

We want our leaders to think like owners.

Grow With Us

At CKJ Management, we believe our future senior leaders should come from within our organization whenever possible.

Strong performance in this position may lead to opportunities such as:

  • Senior District Manager
  • Training or Operations Leadership
  • Director of Operations
  • Vice President of Operations
  • Franchisee
  • Corporate Leadership Opportunities

Your ability to develop leaders and improve restaurants will determine how far you can grow.

Travel and Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Travel regularly between assigned restaurant locations
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs
  • Be available during mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
  • Respond to urgent restaurant situations as needed
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during restaurant visits
  • Lift up to 50 pounds
  • Work effectively in fast-paced restaurant environments

This is a field leadership position. The most effective District Managers spend meaningful time inside their restaurants, working directly with their leaders and teams.

Why Great Leaders Choose CKJ Management

Great District Managers do more than improve numbers.

They change careers.

They help struggling managers become confident leaders.

They create opportunities for Team Members to advance.

They build restaurants that employees are proud to work in and guests enjoy visiting.

They leave behind stronger leaders, healthier cultures, and better businesses.

At CKJ Management, you will have the opportunity to lead with purpose, make an impact, and help shape the future of our company.

If you are ready to take ownership of a district, build exceptional leaders, and grow successful restaurants, we would love to have you on our team.

Develop Leaders. Grow Restaurants. Build Your Future with CKJ Management.
