Location: Philadelphia Metro, New Jersey & Lehigh Valley

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (Office, Project Sites & Flexible Work from Home)

Salary: $75,000 - $135,000 (depending on experience)


About the Role

An established building automation and controls contractor is seeking an experienced Controls Project Manager to oversee Building Automation System (BAS) projects from initial planning through commissioning and project closeout.

This hybrid position offers a flexible working environment, combining time spent on project sites, in the office, and working remotely. It is ideal for someone with a background in building automation, controls, or a related technical field who enjoys coordinating projects, collaborating with technical teams, and delivering successful outcomes for customers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple Building Automation System (BAS) projects from award through commissioning and final handover
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring key milestones and deliverables are achieved
  • Prepare project status reports, customer updates, change orders, and presentations for both clients and internal stakeholders
  • Coordinate commissioning activities, system acceptance, project closeout, and all associated documentation
  • Identify project risks, schedule impacts, and scope changes while implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track
  • Collaborate with engineering, programming, installation, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide field technicians with all required project documentation, including drawings, specifications, scope of work, schedules, and customer contacts
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance to support successful project execution
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with customer expectations, industry standards, and applicable safety requirements


Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing Building Automation System (BAS), HVAC controls, or building controls projects
  • Strong understanding of building automation systems, HVAC controls, commissioning, and controls installation
  • Experience coordinating field technicians, subcontractors, and engineering teams
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, control schematics, and project specifications
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the Philadelphia Metro, New Jersey, and Lehigh Valley regions as required


Preferred Experience

  • Experience with one or more leading BAS platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Distech Controls, Johnson Controls Metasys, Schneider Electric EcoStruxure, Siemens, Honeywell, or Alerton
  • Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, and other building systems integration protocols
  • Experience delivering commercial construction, retrofit, or energy efficiency projects
