Job description

The 96th Test Wing (96TW), headquartered at Eglin Air Force Base (AFB), is host to a wide range of activities that support all services, multiple Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, Contractors, and Allied Nations. The 96TW, under the command of AFTC, is the T&E center for Air Force air-delivered weapons, navigation and guidance systems, Command and Control systems, and Air Force Special Operations Command systems. The Wing provides expert evaluation and validation of the performance of systems throughout the design, development, acquisition, and sustainment process to ensure the warfighter has technologically superior, reliable, maintainable, sustainable and safe systems. The 96th Test Wing performs DT&E across the complete system life cycle for a wide variety of customers including: Air Force Systems Program Offices, the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), logistics and product centers; major commands; other DoD services and United States (US) Government agencies (Department of Transportation, National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), etc.); foreign military sales; and private industry. This position is located at Eglin AFB, FL.

Essential Duties:

  • Serve as Security advisor, providing oversight and management of multiple security disciplines (information, personnel, industrial, physical, computer, operations and communications security) in support of the Wing’s advances and special access programs.
  • Implement and administer the SAP information security programs and personnel security programs.
  • Monitor overall security administration program for the organization.
  • Implement policies and procedures covering the safeguarding of classified information.
  • Implement unit security education and motivation programs.
  • Implement policies, methods of and training relative to security programs concerned with the handling and classification of national defense information.
  • Analyze, develop and implement security policy, instructions and guidance.
  • Develop and present training material.
  • Conduct security program reviews.
  • Review and submit security central clearance investigations monthly.
  • Receive, review and process EQIP, EPSQ, AF Form 2583 and JPAS/DISS.
  • Assist in planning, conducting, evaluating, analyzing, and reporting security issues.
  • Generate and maintain databases that reflect receipt, storage, inventory and disposition of information; to include data entry, updates, and generation of reports
  • Generate and maintain automated databases, to include data entry, updates, and generation of reports
  • Support physical security procedures by performing entry and visit processing, escorting personnel within the facility, verifying end-of-day security checks have been conducted and performing other security administrative functions as requested.
  • Assist in the development/update of and conduct security briefings


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree. May substitute experience for education with government approval.
  • Must have an understanding of the specific procedures and processes of the Air Force Test Center and DoD regulations and guidelines, covering information, personnel, physical and industrial security
  • Must have experience with Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS - Account manager)/DISS and Electronic Questionnaire for Investigations Processing (E-QIP)
  • Must have ability to quickly understand the customers overall technical objectives and mission a provide effective solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities required.
  • Must exemplify a dedication to achieving the mission of the 96TW as well as high standards of quality and excellence in performing the duties.
  • Must be able to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and lift false floor panels for security inspections during construction and for annual inspections.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50%.
  • Must have SAP Experience
  • US Citizenship required.

  • Must hold an active Department of Defense Top Secret Security/SCI Eligible Clearance.
