Job description

Eagle Landing Golf Club, located in Orange Park, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Golf Course Superintendent! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you'll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
The golf course superintendent plays a critical role in maintaining the quality and playability of the golf course. They work closely with the golf course superintendent to ensure that all aspects of the course are kept in pristine condition, providing an exceptional experience for golfers.
Salary: $100,000 per year (Eligible for a 5% performance bonus)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Course Maintenance:
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee mowing, watering, fertilizing, and other horticultural activities.
  • Monitor the health and condition of the turfgrass and other vegetation.
  • Coordinate irrigation system maintenance and repairs.

Staff Management:
  • Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Assist in hiring, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed and provide ongoing education on best practices.

Equipment Management:
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance of machinery.
  • Ensure proper use and care of all tools and equipment.

Budget and Reporting:
  • Assist in the development and management of the maintenance budget.
  • Prepare reports on course conditions and maintenance activities.
  • Track expenses and assist with financial planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in agronomy, horticulture, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance.
  • Experience in staff management and training.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass management and horticultural practices.
  • Ability to operate and maintain various types of maintenance equipment.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position works both outside and inside and where needed.

Physical Demands:
  • Frequently uses hands, talks and hears. Regularly stands and sits. Occasionally walks, reaches with hands and arms, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and crawls.
  • Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Environment/Noise:
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non- weather); near fumes or airborne particles, and near toxic or caustic chemicals. Noise level is moderate.
