Job description

Foundation Risk Partners, one of the fastest growing insurance brokerage and consulting firm in the US, is adding an Underwriter to their Apartment Insurance Consultants team in Austin, TX.
Summary:
The Underwriter works under the direct supervision of the Director of Underwriting and provides technical expertise, support, and service while maintaining daily interaction with the Account Management team.
Responsibilities:
  • Review carrier renewals and maintain carrier relationships and communications.
  • Gather account and historical data; prepare and distribute Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
  • Review carrier proposals for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
  • Maintain knowledge of current insurance market trends, conditions, competitive intelligence, and product and service innovations.
  • Interact collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, clients, carriers, and business partners.
  • Perform other duties assigned, including but not limited to underwriting, quoting, account servicing, claims support, inspection ordering and review, and loss control recommendations.

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, risk assessment, and underwriting principles.
  • Professional insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AU, CIC, ARM, or similar) preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
  • Well-versed in insurance coverages, policy language, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
