Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is currently seeking talented candidates for our open Sr Underwriter position. This is a Full-Time role within the Ladder Life department. Job Summary:

Effectively and efficiently classifies mortality risk in a sound, objective and consistent manner by applying company guidelines and philosophies.


Essential Functions:

(90%)

  • Provides timely service on cases to ensure Service Level Agreements(SLAs) and increased placement rates are met.
  • Provides sound underwriting judgement on all cases to ensure mortality objectives are met.
  • Effectively and appropriately utilizes company resources (i.e. hr | Ascent,peers, management, medical, actuarial and audit).
  • Adheres to regulatory requirements to ensure Hannover Re remains incompliance.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to ensure Hannover Re is recognized as a leader in underwriting.
  • Provides signing authority up to $5 million

  • Responds to client inquiries and provides technical support and opinions to ensure client satisfaction.

You come equipped with

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Undergraduate degree or related experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in underwriting
  • Knowledge of medical and financial underwriting, product knowledge, and understanding of life insurance industry practices

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
  • Industry coursework/designations (FALU, FLMI, CLU, etc.)
  • Involvement with local, regional and/or national underwriting organizations

Travel:

  • Overnight travel required up to 10% of the time throughout the continental USA   

Compensation (Inclusive of Base + Bonus):

  • $95,900 - $129,700
