Company Summary:

At Young Innovations, we foster a dynamic environment where team members make an impact every day as part of a collaborative, inclusive culture. Together, we serve the dental profession and their patients, united in our mission of achieving a Lifetime of Oral Health

We embrace diverse perspectives and encourage bold thinking, challenging traditional approaches with a bias for action. Whether you're looking to expand your skills or grow your career, Young is here to support your goals and continuous learning. At Young, YOU are at the core of what we do.

Position Overview:

As part of Young's Data Team, the Senior BI Developer is an end-to-end business intelligence role. The Senior BI Developer is responsible for creating and designing models and dashboard reporting to support enterprise-wide decision making. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of business processes, excellent active listening skills, and the ability to transform complex concepts into dashboard reporting that highlights the critical KPIs, goals, and information needed at decision points for the business users.

The Senior BI Developer will report to the Director of Strategy, Data & Analytics and will operate with significant autonomy, independently driving projects forward while regularly engaging with senior leadership. Core responsibilities include managing complex data projects end-to-end, analyzing large datasets, developing and implementing predictive models, and translating findings into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders. The Director will provide occasional guidance and support as needed.

This is a hybrid position. Relocation assistance is not available.

You'll like this role if:

  • You like to have a visible impact - this role isn't just creating reports - it's helping key leaders make decisions.
  • You enjoy a variety of and continuous learning. Exposure to different departments keeps the work interesting and builds broader knowledge.

Why You'll Love Working Here:

  • Medium sized company - not too big, not too small - just enough to get things done and see your impact.
  • Did we say benefits? Full medical, dental, vision, 401k, parental leave, paid holidays, paid time off, short- & long-term disability insurance, employee assistance program, and more!

Who you'll work with:

  • No department is off limits - there is partnership with engineering, customer service, sales, IT, and more!

What You'll Do:

  • Take structured data for reporting that meets functional requirements across business units to deliver actionable insights in Power BI dashboards for recurrent use or summarized results for executive and management use in ad hoc reporting;
  • Work with business users to define business problems and align reporting and KPIs to objectives;
  • Leverage data warehouse, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Azure, and data lakes to deliver consistent and reliable data to end users;
  • Own communications and project management with stakeholders including executive, commercial, product, operations, and data teams;
  • Utilize large-scale datasets (e.g. customer interactions, transaction records) through distributed computing and modern data platforms to drive data-informed decision-making;
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Marketing, Commercial, Customer Service, Finance, and Operations, to define analytical needs and deliver actionable solutions;
  • Translate vague asks and complex findings into actionable insights using dashboards, data visualizations, and reports tailored for both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • Identify hidden trends and opportunities proactively;
  • Reduce manual reporting through automation;
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, not just a report builder.

  • Bachelor's degree in math, economics, finance, data analytics, statistics or equivalent/related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in BI development, data visualization, and/or analytics.

  • Strong analytical skills; specifically, knowledge of advanced analytical tools including Python, SSIS, SQL, or other analytic software packages.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling techniques (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and dimensional modeling.
