Job Title: Marketing Coordinator - Public Health
Location: Nashville, TN - Hybrid
Duration: 9 months (W2-Contract)
Travel: Up to 25% statewide travel may be required
Program: Community Health Services (CHS), Tennessee Department of Health
Position Overview
Our clientis seeking a Public Health Marketing Coordinator to develop and implement strategic marketing and communication initiatives supporting regional and local public health services.
The coordinator will collaborate with Central Office and Regional leadership, the Office of Communications, Health Promotion Coordinators, and external partners to ensure consistent, accurate, engaging, culturally relevant, and accessible messaging across 7 regions and 89 counties in Tennessee.
The position will also work with an advertising firm to develop and design a marketing campaign and will support community outreach, digital communications, web content, and marketing materials.

Education

Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience developing marketing strategies and communication plans.
  • Experience managing digital communications and creating print and web content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing multiple marketing projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with website content management systems, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office.
  • Graphic design experience and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred.
  • Knowledge of public health communication principles and community engagement strategies is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate workgroups with state and regional leadership to develop and implement regional and local marketing strategies aligned with the CHS Strategic Plan.
  • Coordinate marketing content requests and submissions to the Office of Communications within established timelines.
  • Develop, update, and maintain regional and local webpages using standardized organizational content while incorporating location-specific programs, services, information, and events.
  • Design, coordinate, and obtain appropriate approvals for print and digital marketing and educational materials in accordance with organizational branding and communication standards.
  • Collaborate with Health Promotion Coordinators to develop culturally relevant outreach and educational materials.
  • Develop communications that address public health misinformation, build community trust, and increase awareness of health department services.
  • Ensure communications comply with organizational branding, messaging, and accessibility standards.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support community engagement and public health outreach.
  • Monitor marketing and communication initiatives and recommend improvements to increase community engagement and campaign effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with an advertising firm on the development and design of marketing campaigns.
  • Support marketing and communication initiatives across 7 regions and 89 counties throughout Tennessee.
