Housekeeping Manager

Lead a Team That Creates Exceptional Guest Experiences

DoubleTree by Hilton South Bend is seeking an experienced, hands-on Housekeeping Manager to lead our housekeeping operation and help maintain the high standards expected of a Hilton-branded, full-service hotel.

Our recently renovated downtown property features nearly 300 guest rooms, extensive meeting space, food and beverage outlets, and a busy operation serving leisure, business, and group travelers. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about cleanliness, team development, accountability, and guest satisfaction.

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the daily operation of the Housekeeping Department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry coordination, inventory management, staffing, training, and quality assurance. This position works closely with the Executive Leadership Team to ensure operational excellence and an exceptional guest experience.

This is a 50-hour per week leadership position that requires flexibility, visibility, and active involvement in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop housekeeping supervisors, room attendants, housepersons, and laundry personnel.

  • Maintain Hilton brand standards and cleanliness expectations throughout the property.

  • Conduct daily room inspections and public area inspections.

  • Ensure proper staffing levels and scheduling to meet occupancy demands.

  • Manage room assignments, boards, productivity, and labor costs.

  • Monitor guest satisfaction scores and address service recovery opportunities.

  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop housekeeping team members.

  • Maintain inventory levels and oversee ordering of housekeeping supplies and equipment.

  • Partner closely with Front Office, Engineering, and Sales departments to ensure seamless guest experiences.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, sanitation, and company policies.

  • Participate in Manager-on-Duty responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hotel housekeeping leadership experience required.

  • Full-service hotel experience strongly preferred.

  • Hilton experience preferred.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience with scheduling, labor management, and productivity tracking.

  • Proficient with hotel systems and Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to lead by example and foster a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to inspect guest rooms and public areas throughout the hotel.

  • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 25 pounds as needed.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts based on business needs.

Schedule
  • Approximately 50 hours per week

  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays as business demands require.

  • Flexible schedule based on hotel occupancy and operational needs.
