School Nurse / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
Location: Los Angeles, California; Onsite
Position Summary
As a School Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care and health support services to medically fragile students within a school-based setting. This role supports students with a variety of complex medical needs while collaborating closely with school staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure a safe and supportive educational environment. Opportunities are available for Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) seeking full-time, part-time, or per diem schedules. Responsibilities
Schedule / Shift
  • Shift details: School-day schedule, Monday-Friday
  • Hours per week: Full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities available
  • Contract length: School-based assignment
Key Duties
  • Provide direct nursing care and health support services to medically fragile students
  • Administer medications, manage medical equipment, and perform nursing procedures as needed
  • Support students requiring ventilator care, tracheostomy care, diabetes management, catheterization, and tube feedings
  • Monitor student health status and respond appropriately to medical needs throughout the school day
  • Collaborate with school staff and interdisciplinary teams to promote student safety and well-being
  • Maintain accurate health documentation and comply with district and nursing standards
  • Participate in trainings, meetings, and additional duties as assigned
  • Support a safe and inclusive educational environment for all students
Requirements
Education
  • Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Licenses & Certifications
  • Required: Active Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Required: CPR Certification
  • Additional certifications: Current Physical within the last year
  • Additional certifications: Current PPD within the last year (Chest X-Ray acceptable if positive)
Skills
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Experience with ventilator care, tracheostomy care, diabetes management, catheterization, and tube feedings strongly preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a school-based environment
  • Ability to meet fingerprinting and district clearance requirements
