JOB PURPOSE: A Data Scientist at Nuvative, Inc. will have a strong background in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning, with a passion for leveraging data to drive business decisions. As a Data Scientist at Nuvative, Inc., you will play a key role in analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and providing actionable insights to improve our products and services. The Data Scientist also works closely with the other Data Scientists on analysis and prediction of trends while supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day delivery of projects and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Scientist

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast customer behavior and optimize business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Turn data into insight: segment, cluster, model and mine to better understand behaviors, trends, & performance shortfalls.
  • Find, clean, and integrate data into usable and helpful information.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in data science and apply best practices to solve business challenges.
  • Contribute using SQL and Python languages to the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to drive key business decisions.
  • Identify gaps in current data systems, drive and contribute to development of systems to bridge gap.
  • Plans and executes ongoing strategies including maximization of technologies and processes.
  • Responding with urgency to high priority requests from senior business leaders.
  • Take initiative to make things better and provide solutions for challenges.
  • Anticipate operational needs based on volume/expansion and make recommendations.
  • Drive change โ€“ produce clear, understandable visualizations and reports to share with Senior Management.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS, MS or PhD in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field (with a minimum of 3 years of experience preferred).
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of finance and loan underwriting desired.
  • Background in data mining, machine learning, statistical analysis, and modeling.
  • Strong SQL abilities and experience with massive relational database systems.
  • Programming skills in R or Python and experience with related machine learning packages.
  • Proven track record of assisting business decisions with accurate data and analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
