Marketing Operations Lead

Guidant Power, Inc

Chicago, IL • On-site

Full-time

Job description

Marketing Operations Lead
Location:Remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates in Chicagoland
Compensation:105,000 to 115,000 per year
Employment Type:Full-time
Reports to:Chief Executive Officer
Build the function and grow with the company
Guidant Power is looking for a Marketing Operations Lead to take ownership of our day-to-day marketing activities and build the systems, data, campaigns, and processes that will support our next stage of growth.
You will work closely with our CEO, who has owned marketing to date. You will gain direct exposure to company strategy, sales priorities, investment decisions, acquisitions, and the business results your work is expected to produce.
The first responsibility is to implement HubSpot for marketing automation, integrating it with our ERP (NetSuite) and other marketing information sources. You will import the data and begin developing campaigns and sequences that support our go-to-market strategy. You will also be responsible for coordinating priorities and managing the outside agencies and specialists who conduct most of Guidant's marketing activities.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports initially. The "Lead" title reflects ownership of the function, influence across the company, and the opportunity to accept broader leadership as Guidant grows.
Why this opportunity may be right for you
You will have a seat close to the decisions.
Working directly with the CEO will give you broad exposure to how a rapidly growing, private-equity owned company sets priorities, allocates resources, evaluates performance, and turns marketing activity into pipeline and revenue.
You will own the daily marketing operation.
You will own all data, marketing automation systems, and oversee the outside resources supporting Guidant's website and blog, social media, collateral, paid advertising, and special campaigns. You will bring these activities together under one clear plan with consistent reporting.
You will build, not simply maintain.
One of your first major responsibilities will be helping implementing HubSpot as our marketing automation platform. The platform will manage leads from their initial interaction with Guidant through qualification and handoff as sales opportunities.
Your work will be visible.
The goal is not more marketing activity. It is better campaigns, cleaner data, faster lead follow-up, stronger sales support, and measurable pipeline growth.
You will have access to a broader marketing community.
Guidant is backed by Shore Capital. You will become part of Shore's marketing cohort, a peer group of marketing professionals from across more than 60 Shore companies. You will have access to peers facing similar challenges, proven practices, and a broader network of marketing expertise.
The role can grow with you.
This is an excellent opportunity for a go-getter who demonstrates the judgment, initiative, and capability to accept increasing responsibility. We would also consider an experienced practitioner who wants to perfect the craft of marketing operations while building a meaningful company.
What you will own
Daily marketing management
  • Manage the day-to-day execution of Guidant's marketing activities, most of which are performed by outside agencies and specialists.
  • Establish priorities, schedules, budgets, deliverables, and performance expectations for internal and external resources.
  • Make sure marketing activities are aligned with company growth objectives, service-line priorities, and sales needs.

Marketing automation and lead management
  • Lead the implementation and roll out of Hubspot as Guidant's marketing automation platform.
  • Build the processes required to capture, enrich, score, nurture, and route leads before they become sales opportunities.
  • Establish clear definitions and workflows for leads, sales-accepted leads, and conversion into opportunities in NetSuite.
  • Create and manage automations, sequences, landing pages, forms, campaigns, segmentation, reporting, and integrations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and usable marketing data.

Campaigns, systems, and reporting
  • Develop and manage the marketing plan, campaign calendar, priorities, and budget.
  • Create and improve campaigns across email, SEO, paid advertising, events, webinars, and account-based marketing.
  • Build dashboards that connect marketing activity and investment to leads, opportunities, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Manage integrations among marketing automation, NetSuite, the website, and outside data sources.
  • Lead the integration of newly acquired companies into Guidant's marketing strategy, systems, data, processes, and brand.

What you bring
  • Five or more years of experience in B2B marketing operations, revenue operations, or demand generation.
  • Two or more years experience independently owning a marketing operations function or marketing automation platform.
  • Hands-on experience administering HubSpot and using advanced capabilities like automations, sequences, landing pages, campaigns, reporting, and integrations.
  • Experience managing lead processes from initial capture through closed won.
  • Experience coordinating agencies, vendors, contractors, budgets, and competing priorities.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to connect marketing decisions to customer needs, sales effectiveness, pipeline, and revenue.
  • The ability to move comfortably between high-level planning and hands-on execution.
  • Experience in B2B services, industrial markets, engineering, electrical services, or multi-site enterprise sales would helpful.

How you work
You are a self-directed builder. You see what needs to be done, create a practical path forward, and follow through.
You are a self-directed learner and do not wait for someone else to teach you. You seek feedback, apply it, and continuously improve your work.
You are comfortable managing multiple resources while maintaining a clear view of the overall plan. You bring structure to ambiguity, build repeatable processes, and leave systems better than you found them.
Most importantly, you demonstrate the curiosity, drive, judgment, and initiative to take on increased marketing leadership as Guidant grows.
About Guidant Power
Guidant Power helps companies create safer, more productive workplaces through electrical safety, reliability, engineering, infrared inspection, and training services. We serve as a trusted guide to companies managing electrical risks across complex operations and multiple locations.
Guidant is a rapidly growing, Shore Capital-backed company building a national leader in electrical safety, reliability, engineering, and training.
Our culture is built around four values: Safety, Trust, Team, and Continuous Improvement. We expect high standards, give people meaningful responsibility, support professional growth, and want high performers to build careers with us.
Demonstrate your Marketing Skills
Please submit your resume and a response that addresses each of the following questions in no more than 300 words.
  1. Describe why you are a good fit for this role and how it will move both you and Guidant Power forward.
  1. Describe one technical marketing operations problem you solved, what you changed, and the measurable result.

Treat your response as a marketing sample. Show that you understand your audience, can identify what matters, and can communicate value clearly.
