  • This job is a member of the Information Technology Team within the Information Technology Division.
  • The candidate will be responsible for design, implementation and management for cloud-based enterprise data analytics ecosystem, including, but not limited to, data delivery, data preparation, data discovery, data processing, data integration, data storage, data science, data analytics, machine learning, etc. The candidate will have experience of new emerging cloud data technologies and will work with IT partners to do design, and implementation works on use cases leading to viable funded new projects/applications. The candidate will also implement AA's enterprise data strategy for both structured and unstructured data sources as single data platform, supporting data exploration, discovery, analytics, and reporting. They will manage a team of data engineers to build and support enterprise data warehouse, data lake and data hub models. Knowledge and expertise in data engineering patterns, cloud security and networks are a must.

  • Lead a team focused on the design, implementation and scalability of data pipelines or platforms to ensure reliable, secure and efficient data delivery across the enterprise
  • Collaborate with leaders across Platform, Security, Engineering, Architecture and Governance to ensure data solutions are comprehensive and resilient
  • Develop and implement data strategies for the organization in conjunction with other Leaders
  • Provide technical, functional, and project supervision to the engineering team
  • Attract, recruit and develop top level talent
  • Lead to Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve challenges faced by data teams
  • Applies established data management best practices and recommends improvements
  • Manage and track Project/Program schedules, OKRs and budgets
  • Provide expertise, mentor and guide data platform technical Engineers in implementing new initiatives for the data ecosystem

All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
  • 6+ years of Data Engineering or Analytics experience
  • 3 years experience leading teams using Agile
  • 3 years of leading technology teams working in the Data space
  • 2 years of experience working with Cloud based data products

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
  • Airline/Aviation experience
  • 5 years of leading technology teams working in the Data space

Skills, Licenses & Certifications
  • Technical proficiency: Strong Understanding of Data Engineering Principles and expertise with Azure or other Cloud platforms and products
  • Drive Results: Lead with precision and purpose to execute initiatives that drive tangible results
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor and lead a team of engineers to ensure timely deliverables of data solutions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Clear written and concise communication to multiple levels of leadership. Collaborate effectively with Business and IT teams.
  • Data Strategy: Ability to develop and implement modern data strategies to drive business value while optimizing resource usage
  • Problem Solving: Approach problem-solving holistically and consider solutions through a combination of technology and processes
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and products like Aha, ADO, GitHub
