Job Description

The Department of Information Systems in the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at theAssociate level. The appointment will begin on Fall 2026.

We are seeking an experienced academic professional to join our dynamic and exciting Department of Information Systems. Responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, producing high quality publications in peer-reviewed journals, and participating in university and other service activities.

We are looking for a seasoned researcher with an established, ongoing research agenda generating publications in highly ranked journals in information systems. Strong candidates would also enjoy and excel at online and in-person teaching undergraduate and graduate (master's and PhD level) students as well as advising PhD students in two or more of the following areas:Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, cybersecurity, programming, web development, data communications/networking, systems analysis and design, IS policy/strategy, change management, project management, or database management. An ideal candidate would also be interested in conducting service activities and serving in leadership roles in the department. This position is perfect for a team player who enjoys working with others to enhance the growth and strength of the organization.

Department & College Information

The Department of Information Systems is part of the College of Business at the University of Nevada, Reno, and offers a dynamic, collegial, and collaborative environment dedicated to both faculty and student success. The department provides a rich portfolio of academic programs, including two undergraduate degrees; Information Systems and Accounting Information Systems; and two STEM-designated master's programs: the in-person Master of Information Systems (MIS) with concentrations in Data Analytics and Management, and the Online Master of Business Analytics (MSBA). At the doctoral level, the department offers a Ph.D. in in Information Systems, preparing scholars for impactful research and academic careers. The department is also expanding its curriculum to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) across both undergraduate and graduate programs, ensuring that students are prepared to lead in data-driven and AI-enabled business environments.
