Job description

A hospital system in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Setting: Hospital based outpatient

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal (GI) tract and hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas, gallbladder) disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Evaluate and treat conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcer disease, Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis, chronic liver diseases, and pancreatitis.
  • Perform and interpret a high volume of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
  • Provide specialized consultation for patients admitted to other hospital services.
  • Collaborate closely with other specialties to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
  • Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, dietary changes, and self-management of chronic conditions.
  • Supervise and mentor GI fellows, residents, and medical students in their clinical, cognitive, consultative, and procedural skill development.
  • Serve as teaching faculty for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Training Program and the Department of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program.
  • Comply with all regulatory and confidentiality standards, maintaining accurate medical records.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
  • Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology
