Job description

Overview

VTG is seeking Systems Engineers/Technical Specialists (Mid) in San Diego, CA, and Hampton Roads, VA. The Systems Engineers/Technical Specialist will support AN/SQQ-89(V) technical data, training, and software management functions. These positions develop and maintain the technical documentation, courseware, and system configuration products that sustain fleet readiness across approximately 110 U.S. AN/SQQ-89 systems.


What will you do?
  • Develop and maintain CSOSS redlines, Capabilities and Limitations (Caps & Lims), and TMDER responses
  • Manage MOODLE/LMS courseware content development and updates in response to TI releases
  • Author training courseware including Section 508 compliance
  • Develop IPRA packages and support training conduct at SCSTC Hampton Roads and San Diego
  • Execute TOR documentation and iPDM interface management for software and firmware change packages
  • Support test procedure development and CSOSS redline maintenance
  • Assist with TTE network architecture and CISSP/IA certification coordination
  • Support CSSQT sea trial events and post-trial documentation
  • Coordinate fleet exercise scenario development and OBT/SAST support packages
  • Maintain CM documentation including engineering drawing updates and ECO package coordination

Do you have what it takes?
  • Must have and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance; TS/SCI eligibility preferred for eMASS/SIPRNet functions
  • 5 to 15 years of Navy combat system or technical documentation experience
  • Experience with S1000D, SCORM, or Navy courseware development tools preferred
  • Familiarity with AN/SQQ-89 or comparable surface ship sonar/combat system preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or technical field required
  • Experience with NAVSEA technical deliverable environment and data item descriptions preferred
  • Instructional systems design or NEC-qualified training delivery experience a plus

*Position contingent upon contract award*

VTG’s estimated starting pay range is $82,000-$170,000 which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
