Job description

Quality Inspector (CMM & Manual Inspection) 
We are hiring an experienced Quality Inspector to join our team in Mount Clemens, area.. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in CMM inspection, manual part inspection, or both.
The role is evenly divided between CMM inspection (50%) and manual inspection using precision measuring tools (50%). If you have experience with one method and are interested in learning the other, we are willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimensional inspections on precision CNC machined parts using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, depth gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Select the proper measuring equipment based on part features and tolerance requirements.
  • Verify part conformance to customer and engineering specifications.
  • Document inspection results and identify nonconforming products.
  • Collaborate with machinists and production personnel to maintain quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Quality Inspector, CMM Inspector, Quality Technician, Metrology Technician, or Mechanical Inspector in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience operating Zeiss CMM with Calypso software is preferred, but experience with other CMM systems is also considered.
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, and thread gauges.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
  • Experience inspecting a wide variety of machined parts in a job shop or precision machining environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Willingness to cross-train in both CMM and manual inspection methods.
