The Configuration Management and Data Management (CMDM) organization is responsible for ensuring our products are under configuration control and delivered on time. The CMDM Organization consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers.

The Effectors Configuration Management department is looking for an individual to perform the role of Manager Configuration Analyst.

This position is Onsite in Tucson, Arizona. 


What You Will Do

  • Drive Strategic Configuration Management Initiatives: Lead and oversee the execution of CM processes, including identification, control, verification, and status accounting, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational goals and complex contractual requirements.
  • Develop and Implement Enterprise-Level CM Strategies: Define and implement CM strategies and frameworks, driving the adoption of common processes and best practices across programs and business units.
  • Provide Advanced Change Leadership: Oversee the introduction and implementation of changes to engineering documents and processes, ensuring alignment with program objectives and enterprise initiatives.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between engineering, quality, manufacturing, and data control teams to ensure successful coordination and execution of engineering changes.
  • Audit and Compliance Leadership: Lead configuration audits, resolve high-priority data discrepancies, and ensure compliance with CM plans, command media, and complex contractual obligations.
  • Baseline Oversight and Data Governance: Establish, maintain, and monitor product baselines, ensuring data integrity and accuracy across enterprise systems and tools.
  • Strategic Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Assess and mitigate CM-related risks, providing expert guidance to leadership on program readiness, compliance, and configuration health.
  • Mentorship and Technical Leadership: Mentor and develop CM professionals at all levels, fostering a culture of excellence and driving organizational growth through knowledge-sharing and skill development.
  • Support Enterprise-Level CM Initiatives: Collaborate with senior leadership, engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to ensure CM strategies align with business objectives and program performance goals.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires A University Degree (Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of professional experience, Configuration Management experience preferred. In lieu of a degree 12 years of professional experience, Configuration Management experience preferred.
  • Experience with databases (SAP,ERP, PDM, CABS, PRISM, and/or other related databases).
  • Experience with MSOffice (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • An active and existing Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one prior to start.


Qualifications We Prefer

  • General knowledge and understanding of configuration management principles using configuration management policies, procedures, and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with various engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and compliance with configuration management policies.
  • Ability to identify potential complex problems associated with technical engineering data, regarding configuration management issues, and take corrective action as needed
  • Experience reviewing data and/or processing documentation/records

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
