Job description


The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the daily organization, coordination, and control of warehouse operations, including inventory, supplies, equipment, receiving, distribution, storage, safety, and staff productivity. The position supports field operations by ensuring materials and equipment are available, properly maintained, accurately tracked, and distributed in a timely and cost-effective manner
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities, staffing, assignments, and workflow.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of janitorial supplies, paper products, chemicals, equipment, parts, and other operational materials.
  • Receive, inspect, count, label, organize, and properly store incoming products and equipment.
  • Coordinate the timely distribution of supplies and equipment to assigned buildings and operational teams.
  • Maintain organized warehouse storage areas and ensure products are properly labeled and accessible.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate reorder needs to management and purchasing personnel.
  • Track equipment movement, deliveries, returns, repairs, and replacements.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and documentation of chemicals and other regulated materials in accordance with company and safety requirements.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and investigates discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, or overages.
  • Maintain accurate records, logs, delivery documentation, purchase information, and inventory reports.
  • Coordinate with managers and site leadership regarding supply and equipment needs, special events, projects, and emergencies.
  • Ensure warehouse employees follow attendance, timekeeping, safety, productivity, and professional-conduct expectations.
  • Train and coach warehouse employees on procedures, equipment handling, inventory controls, and workplace safety.
  • Maintain a clean, secure, and safe warehouse environment and report hazards or maintenance concerns promptly.
  • Assist with budgeting and cost-control initiatives by reducing waste, loss, unnecessary purchases, and product damage.
  • Support audits, inspections, client requests, operational initiatives, and other duties assigned by leadership.

LEADERSHIP & PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
  • Lead by example and demonstrate professionalism, accountability, integrity, and respect.
  • Communicate clearly and promptly with management, employees, vendors, and field operations.
  • Address performance, attendance, safety, and conduct concerns promptly and in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding employee, client, purchasing, and company information.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration between the warehouse and field operations.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE
  • Follow all ABM policies, OSHA requirements, safety procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment is used when required.
  • Maintain proper chemical labeling, storage, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) availability.
  • Report accidents, injuries, unsafe conditions, property damage, and security concerns immediately.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior warehouse, inventory, logistics, custodial operations, facilities, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead employees and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, inventory systems, spreadsheets, and other business applications.
  • Ability to safely lift, move, and handle supplies and equipment consistent with the physical requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
