POSITION SUMMARY
The SP Warehouse Supervisor has direct oversight of Outbound order fulfillment and Accessories for customers and while supporting safety and cost control (adherence to operating budget and productivity improvement)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
o The position is tactical, requiring strong floor leadership with an emphasis on team-building and continuous improvement (Lean) initiatives
o The role requires frequent interaction with site leadership, Customer Success and periodic communication with the Materials Control manager, VP of supply chain and other functional areas, including manufacturing and quality
o Ensures the service parts team operates with a "safety first" mindset and consistently meets or exceeds operational and service metrics
o Develops and implements work schedules to maintain effective and efficient operations
o Coordinates inbound and outbound workflows to effectively leverage resources and equipment
o Provides continuous floor leadership
o Maintains formal (daily stand-ups, performance appraisal, coaching & counselling) and informal (feedback to employees) communication to energize the operation, promote teamwork and accountability, and drive results
o Responds to and resolves employee relation's issues
o Promotes a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level
o Addresses disciplinary and/or performance problems according to company policy
o Partners with the Materials Control Manager to drive continuous improvement projects
o Support Planning, Purchasing and New Parts Introduction teams for robust part changes and disposition of excess/obsolete mate
o Control and confirm inventory adjustments, appropriate transactions, back up for corrections, and
execute business applications (system access) protocol to avoid downtimes
o Maintain the negative on hand report daily
o Maintain the shortage report
o Maintain bin to bin maintenance (material transfers)
o Maintain Short shipper transactions
o Analyze data
o Look for opportunities in deficiency
o Ensure that all orders are accurately shipped on-time, reallocating resources based on workload within the different shipping value streams.
o As needed, performs detailed root causes of shipping delays and freight damages
o Supervises scheduling of trucks (LTL, TL, & Parcel) and ensures that pick-ups are made as scheduled
o Ensure a high degree of detail and focus on the department's adherence to following the Work Instructions and leads by example
o Must think proactively and act to resolve issues quickly by addressing the root cause of the issues
o Identify inventory discrepancies due to improper material handling management, research root causes and lead efforts to implement demonstrated permanent corrective actions (i.e., no repeat variances)
o Maintains the warehouse in an inventory and audit-ready condition
o Ensures that the operation meets standards for handling and storage
o Establishes proper housekeeping and inventory organization to prevent product mix-ups, damage, deterioration, contamination, or other adverse effects
o Participates in recruitment and selection process for new employees and temporary labor
o Assists Materials Control Manager and Human Resources in employee onboarding
o Provides new hire orientation for safety, on-the-job training, scheduling, and employee support
o Trains, develops, and mentors direct reports
o Assists in conducting job breakdowns and training (TWI) and oversees cross-training program to provide greater operational flexibility and enhance employee job satisfaction
o Coaches and develops functional area TEAM LEADS
o Drives continuous improvement initiatives and fosters a Lean culture through 5S, formal problem solving/Kaizen events, standard work, and Daily Management
o Oversees root cause analysis to poke yoke solutions to non-compliance and defects
o Supports Quality Management System and corporate training & development program with proper document control and employee training
o Ensures standard work (SOP's and work instructions) is current and effective
o Collaborates with ClimateMaster management to address complaints
o Supports ClimateMaster safety (behavior-based) program
o Any other duties assigned by supervisor
Skills & Abilities
Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; or 1-3 months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience: 3 - 5 years of warehouse experience is preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills with familiarity of AS400 software.
Certificates & Licenses: Forklift certified.
Other Requirements: Knowledge of operational excellence principles, lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and 5S is preferred.
