Job Title: Assistant Night Warehouse Manager

Industry: Distribution

Location (City, State): Nashville, TN

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $75,000 - 80,000 annually

Work Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: Night shift (approximately 5:00 PM – 3:30 AM)
  • Friday: Shorter afternoon shift
  • Rotating schedule with every third Friday off
  • Occasional weekend coverage during peak season

Our client is a leading distribution organization with a high-volume warehouse operation. They are seeking an experienced warehouse leader to help oversee overnight operations, support employee development, and ensure efficient, safe, and productive warehouse performance.

Job Description:

The Assistant Night Warehouse Manager partners with the Night Warehouse Manager to oversee warehouse operations, lead a team of warehouse associates, and help drive operational excellence. This role is responsible for supporting inventory accuracy, employee performance, warehouse safety, and overall productivity while serving as the acting manager when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading overnight warehouse operations to ensure daily productivity and service goals are achieved.
  • Supervise, coach, and support a team of approximately 45–50 warehouse employees.
  • Help coordinate staffing, scheduling, onboarding, and training for warehouse personnel.
  • Monitor inventory processes and warehouse workflows to maintain operational accuracy and efficiency.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment while reinforcing company safety standards.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance requests and assist in minimizing operational downtime.
  • Support payroll reporting, employee performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Partner with internal teams to resolve warehouse technology and system issues.
  • Address employee concerns and operational challenges while escalating issues when appropriate.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Night Warehouse Manager.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse supervisory or leadership experience required.
  • Experience managing teams in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory control.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with basic computer applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying warehouse temperatures.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends during seasonal business demands.
