Job Summary

This position oversees the custodial services activities for assigned area of supervision. Manages the daily activities of assigned custodial personnel to ensure the standard level of cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance are maintained in Student Center facilities. Responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance and providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Facilities management, custodial supervisors and staff, quality control personnel and area building management. This position typically will advise and counsel: custodial staff and building management. This position will supervise: assigned staff

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Hire, supervise, and monitor performance of custodial personnel in assigned unit for custodial operations; coordinate and facilitate training and professional development of personnel
Job Duty 2 -
Meet regularly with building management and tenants regarding quality of service delivery and customer satisfaction
Job Duty 3 -
Coordinate and conduct daily inspections of facilities, storage areas and equipment to ensure consistent quality standards are met
Job Duty 4 -
Coordinate and conduct on-going training, orientation and feedback to staff to ensure workload is handled efficiently and effectively
Job Duty 5 -
Responsible for supplies and equipment procurement and management; monitor supply, chemical and equipment usage
Job Duty 6 -
Provide access/key control and secure equipment according to established internal control procedures
Job Duty 7 -
Ensure staff adheres to established safety standards and maintain associated records
Job Duty 8 -
Support and enhance department sustainability initiatives (green cleaning, composting and waste diversion initiatives)

Job Duty 9 -
May be responsible for the management of loading docks and service hallway upkeep and cleanliness, in partnership other campus services
Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience
Six to eight years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires skills in the management of custodial services and delivery including organization, planning, scheduling, supervision, communications, customer service, and related record keeping. Also included are knowledge and skills in custodial processes and procedures, equipment operation, and maintenance.
