Job Purpose
The Refrigeration HVAC Technician inspects, diagnoses, and repairs commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment at multiple facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise, independent work, and travel to job sites to perform preventative maintenance, repairs, and emergency service to keep critical systems running.
Responsibilities
  • Diagnostics, Maintenance & Repair: Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and manuals to independently diagnose, service, and repair commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, including preventative, reactive, and emergency maintenance.
  • Installation & Equipment Expertise: Complete installations of commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment, along with select electrical and mechanical systems in supermarket, fast food, and commercial building environments.
  • Estimating & Pricing: Accurately quote and price installations and repairs for commercial refrigeration, HVAC, and related electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Tools, Testing & Technical Knowledge: Utilize HVAC hand and power tools, test meters, and diagnostic equipment; apply working knowledge of equipment from manufacturers such as Munters, Hillphoenix, Trane, Carrier, and Danfoss.
  • Professional Conduct & Reporting: Maintain a professional, positive presence with tenants and coworkers while identifying additional maintenance needs and reporting findings to the appropriate supervisor.

Requirements
  • Experience Level: Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience servicing commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
  • Refrigeration Certification: Current EPA certification required; must maintain all applicable licenses and credentials.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair large-scale commercial refrigeration and HVAC equipment independently.
  • Field Independence & Reliability: Ability to work autonomously, manage service calls across multiple locations, and respond to emergency service needs as required.
  • Safety & Compliance: Working knowledge of applicable safety standards, codes, and best practices related to commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
