About the Role:
  • Our client, a well-established and growth-oriented regional bank, is conducting a search for an experienced Relationship Manager to join their Commercial and Commercial Real Estate division. This individual will be responsible for building, maintaining, and expanding a high-value client portfolio with a focus on generating commercial & industrial (C&I) and commercial real estate (CRE) loans, non-owner-occupied properties, as well as deposits and other banking solutions.
  • The Relationship Manager will play a key role in supporting departmental sales goals, contributing to community engagement efforts, and upholding compliance with the bank’s operational and regulatory standards.
 
What You’ll Do:
  • Build and manage a portfolio of commercial and/or CRE clients through business development, relationship cultivation, and cross-selling financial solutions
  • Generate and manage a pipeline of C&I and/or commercial real estate loans
  • Drive deposit growth through tailored product offerings and strategic relationship management
  • Support client retention and sales initiatives by delivering exceptional service
  • Assist the department in achieving earnings growth and contributing to budget and operational goals
  • Partner with management to implement lending policies, maintain compliance standards, and uphold CRA requirements
  • Actively participate in community engagement to build brand presence and cultivate local business opportunities
  • Perform other duties as needed in alignment with departmental objectives
 
What We’re Looking For:
  • Bachelor’s degree OR 3–5 years of experience in Commercial Banking or Commercial Real Estate
  • Strong knowledge of credit, lending products, and banking operations
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation-based
  • Ability to interpret financial data and apply mathematical concepts, including interest, percentages, and commissions
  • Problem-solving abilities in standardized business scenarios
  • Strong attention to compliance, process integrity, and customer satisfaction

Candidate Details:
  • 5+ to 7 years experience
  • Seniority Level - Mid-Senior

Ideal candidate:
  • Strong credit skills required. Formal credit training preferred.
  • Must be able to structure and conduct preliminary deal analysis (‘pre-flight’).
  • Candidate must have experience with C&I and non-owner occupied CRE lending.
  • Must have a local book of business near branch location. Local Centers of Influence and community involvement.
  • Must be currently employed and prefer current Relationship Management experience.
  • Must be able to generate $10 to $15 million in loans and $5 million in deposits annually.
  • Must have outside business development experience, not in-branch sales.
  • Proven track record of long-term tenure and stability.
  • Candidate cannot be in hiring bank's database.
