Canopy, South Jordan, UT

About Us

Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS company in South Jordan, Utah building simple, powerful software for accounting firms. We're on a mission to help accountants build an autonomous firm — giving them back the time and tools they need to focus on what matters most: their clients.

We believe the accounting industry deserves world-class software, and we're building exactly that. Our Practice Management Suite is purpose-built for firms that want to work smarter, grow faster, and deliver more value to the people they serve. We place a strong emphasis on delighting our customers, spotting and solving problems, and being good people along the way. The Opportunity

We're looking for a People Operations Coordinator who wants to be the engine behind a great employee experience. You'll support Onboarding, Systems, Benefits, Recruiting, and Compliance — the behind-the-scenes work that makes Canopy a place people genuinely love working at. This is a role for someone who takes real pride in getting the details right, moves fast, and finds satisfaction in a smooth, well-oiled process.

If you love people, love systems, and love making both work better together — keep reading.

What You'll Do

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Own the New Hire Experience end-to-end — offers out the door, background checks and paperwork wrapped up, a great first-day orientation, and I-9/E-Verify handled without a hitch.
  • Manage offboarding with the same care: clean exit processes, systems updated, and COBRA.

People Systems

  • Keep our People Systems accurate, current, and running like clockwork.
  • Look for ways to use AI and automation to make People Ops faster and more accurate — we want you to bring ideas, not just execute ours.
  • Pitch in on audits and reporting throughout the year.

Other

  • Help answer employee questions.
  • Assist with equity and payroll administration.
  • Support the recruiting team with scheduling, reference checks, onsite interviews.
  • Support employment verifications and unemployment claims.
  • Administer training through our Learning Management System.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in a People Operations role, with experience in onboarding and HRIS.
  • Strong technical skills with HR systems — you're comfortable learning new tools quickly and using them well.
  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • A warm, people-first demeanor and a genuine interest in helping employees have a great experience.
  • Sharp attention to detail — accuracy and organization aren't optional for you.
  • A quick, adaptable pace — you can shift with the team's needs and always follow through.
  • Curiosity and a desire to learn across multiple disciplines within a People Team.
  • Sound judgment and the highest degree of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Experience with tools like HRIS, ATS, Google Suite, Articulate, and AI tools.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in Tech/SaaS.
  • Familiarity with our People Tech Stack: Rippling, Lattice, Greenhouse, & NectarHR and AI tools.

We know many women do not apply for a job if they don't perfectly fit the description. We want you to apply anyway.
