Job description

Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Program CNC mills and lathes using CAM software and/or conversational programming.

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery to produce precision parts according to specifications.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.

  • Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficient machining.

  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments.

  • Make program edits and machine adjustments to improve quality and productivity.

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and quality standards throughout production.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in good working condition.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

  • Work closely with management, quality, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

  • Train or assist less experienced machinists as needed.

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school education preferred.

  • 3–5+ years of CNC machining experience.

  • Experience programming CNC mills and/or lathes.

  • Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding.

  • Ability to read blueprints.

  • Experience using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and indicators.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Physical Requirements- Ability to stand for extended periods.

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Manual dexterity required to operate machinery and precision measuring instruments.
