Job description

CentraState Medical Center is currently hiring for the position of Assistant Manager of Security. This role supports the Manager in ensuring the safety of patients, visitors, and staff. This role involves collaboration with Administration, Nursing, Quality, Clinical Managers, and agencies like police and EMS. Responsibilities include analyzing data to reduce violence, managing Emergency functions, and ensuring compliance with Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the installation of safety alarms around building premises.
  • Assigns guard duties to security personnel.
  • Supervise security department personnel including the recruitment, training, assignment delegation, and performance management
  • Regulates policies related to personnel entry and exit into the building
  • Ensures the overall functioning of security equipment
  • Conducts drills to evaluate security responses.
  • Oversees the installation of key controls on company equipment and property.
  • Plans and coordinates security operations during special or high-risk events.
  • Participate in leadership team meetings
  • Reviews and presents reports to management on incidents and security breach. Offers recommendations on ways to avoid future breach in security.
  • Assists in the Preparation of budgets for security operations.
  • Prepares financial reports
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration or a related field preferred
  • ICS 100, ICS 200, HIMS 700 required within 6 months of hire
  • Valid driver's license with a driving record in compliance with CS's eligibility requirements.

  • Exceptional customer service and de-escalation skills required.
  • Minimum 5 years' prior experience in a supervisory role in healthcare and or law enforcement required
  • Experience in the investigative function is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will possess ten or more years of working in law enforcement, or emergency management, with experience at the supervisory level.
  • Previous healthcare security experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards preferred.

Compensation Range: $68,250 - $116,030 annually

 

The compensation above reflects the established range from CentraState Healthcare System (CSHS) for this position at the time the job was posted. CSHS considers many factors to determine compensation, including education, experience, skills, licenses, certification, and training.  As such, team member compensation may fall outside this range. 

Additionally, the compensation range reflects base salary and does not include extra shift rates or incentives tied to quality, productivity, etc., as applicable.

The benefits outlined also reflect CSHS' policy at the time of posting.  Benefits as are made available to other similarly situated team members of CSHS, although participation is at all times in accordance with and subject to the eligibility and other provisions of such plans and programs. CSHS may modify its benefits plans or programs at any time.
