Overview

The Montefiore-Einstein Comprehensive Command Center (MECC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join our team as an Evening Supervisor. This position plays a critical role in overseeing the evening operations of the Transfer Center and serves as a key liaison between referring facilities, Montefiore-Einstein leadership, physicians, nursing teams, EMS providers, and operational partners throughout the health system.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager and Director of the Transfer Center, the Evening Supervisor is responsible for ensuring efficient patient flow, transfer coordination, staff oversight, and operational excellence across a complex, fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to Transfer Center staff during the evening shift.
  • Monitor daily operations, patient transfer activities, and workflow to ensure timely and efficient coordination of care.
  • Serve as the operational point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, including hospital leadership, physicians, nursing leadership, EMS partners, and referring facilities.
  • Collaborate with leadership across all Montefiore-Einstein campuses to address operational challenges, capacity management concerns, and transfer-related issues.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues while ensuring compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Support staff development, coaching, performance management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with patients, families, providers, and healthcare partners.
On-Call Expectations

This position participates in departmental leadership coverage and is expected to be available to staff and leadership during nights, weekends, and holidays via a Montefiore-issued cell phone. The Evening Supervisor serves as a resource for operational guidance, issue escalation, and leadership support outside of regular business hours.

Requirements
  • Associate Degree required.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in healthcare operations, patient access, transfer center, command center, bed management, emergency services, call center operations, or a related healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problemโ€‘solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership, physicians, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
