Job Description
We are seeking an experienced ERP Business Process & Modernization Consultant to lead cross-functional workshops documenting current ("as-is") processes and defining future-state solutions within an enterprise SAP ERP environment.
This role will analyze operational workflows, identify system and process gaps, and develop a structured modernization blueprint supporting an SAP S/4HANA upgrade or transition to a new ERP platform. The Consultant will translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements while guiding governance, change management, and implementation planning efforts.
The ideal candidate combines strong SAP expertise with workshop facilitation and enterprise modernization experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Leadership & Governance
  • Conduct project kickoff sessions with executive leadership and key stakeholders
  • Develop a comprehensive project plan, timeline, and stakeholder engagement strategy
  • Establish governance structure, communication cadence, and performance KPIs
2. Current State ("As-Is") Business Process Documentation
  • Lead structured workshops across enterprise functional areas including finance, treasury, budgeting, procurement, HR/payroll, asset management, and related ERP functions
  • Document workflows, process maps, system dependencies, and integrations
  • Identify system limitations, operational inefficiencies, and process gaps
  • Develop issue logs and risk summaries
3. Future State & Modernization Strategy
  • Facilitate collaborative workshops to define future-state ("To-Be") processes
  • Conduct structured gap analysis between current and future states
  • Recommend process optimization and automation opportunities
  • Develop ERP modernization roadmap aligned with strategic objectives
4. Requirements Development
  • Translate business insights into detailed functional and technical requirements
  • Define specifications supporting SAP S/4HANA upgrade or alternative ERP implementation
  • Identify data migration, reporting, governance, and change management requirements
  • Provide structured training and compliance recommendations
5. Executive Reporting & Deliverables
  • Deliver consolidated documentation including project plan, as-is documentation, future-state blueprint, requirements documentation, and final executive presentation
  • Present findings and actionable recommendations to executive stakeholders
  • Ensure deliverables are implementation-ready and decision-support focused

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting ERP systems in enterprise environments.
  • 5+ years of SAP functional or technical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading ERP modernization or transformation initiatives.
  • Proven ability to conduct and facilitate cross-functional business process workshops.
  • Experience developing detailed functional and technical requirements documentation.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience developing process maps, gap analyses, and modernization roadmaps.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or implementation.
  • Prior experience evaluating or implementing alternative ERP platforms.
  • Experience in large, multi-department enterprise or government environments.
  • Certification in SAP (functional or technical modules).
  • PMP, PMI-ACP, or other project management certification.
