Position Summary

The Manager of Business Development is responsible for driving growth across IIS’s full portfolio of utility services. This role focuses on identifying new opportunities, building strategic relationships, and managing client engagement across all IIS operating companies to expand market share and achieve revenue targets. This is an individual contributor role, reporting to the Director of Business Development. This is a hybrid or remote role, depending on geography.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute business development strategies across all IIS service lines and operating companies.
  • Identify new opportunities and manage the sales pipeline.
  • Build and maintain relationships with utilities, municipalities, EPC contractors, and other key clients and partners across all IIS service lines.
  • Lead proposal development and bid submissions in collaboration with estimating and operations teams.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance reports for leadership.
  • Mentor and lead a team of business development professionals.
  • Lead special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 4+ years of experience in business development within utility, power, or construction industries.
  • Strong knowledge of utility services, including T&D, asset management, line construction, and related infrastructure service lines.
  • Proven ability to secure large-scale projects and manage complex negotiations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
