Job description

OVERVIEW

We are looking to add an experienced, motivated Senior Event Sales Manager to our team with F&B 575 at Aman New York. The role will plan, direct and manage the coordination of all event details and logistics, and sell group bookings and events. In overview, the Senior Event Sales Manager will assist the client in all aspects of building the BEO, facility arrangements and equipment, communication of client needs to internal team and directly support the needs and goals of the Director of Sales & Events.

The Senior Event Sales Manager will work to oversee the Event Manager, and work with other departmental staff to ensure that company requirements are upheld while ensuring the company meets or exceeds guests’ expectations.

This position has an annual salary of $80,000 + Commissions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Work with the sales team to respond to inbound inquiries and sell small to mid-size event bookings.

• Act as the main point of contact for event clients immediately following the booking; throughout the planning process and during the event.

• Manage client relationships and respond quickly and efficiently to client questions and concerns via email, Tripleseat discussions, in person and by phone.

• Proactively engage with clients to ensure a positive experience.

• Close contracts while maximizing revenue through upselling and cross-selling food, beverage, and/or vendor packages.

• Ensure all event information is up to date and fully detailed in Tripleseat prior to deadlines.

• Work with other departments to accommodate special requests for high-profile guests, clients, and partners.

• Implement event execution procedures as per the Director of Sales & Events and General Managers vision and standards.

• Detail BEOs and create floorplans based on the outlet.

• Create and distribute up-to-date event floor plans, BEOs, and rental orders correctly.

• Assist in the setup, breakdown, and execution of events.

• Ensure all event rentals are scheduled conveniently for the operations of the Hotel.

• Maintain calendar of events through Outlook and Tripleseat while attending all necessary event meetings and calls.

• Communicate with sales, culinary, and hotel management as needed.

• Liase with external vendors leading up to and throughout the event, including deliveries & pick up.

• Responsible for collecting and organizing all event final payments as per the signed agreement.

• On a weekly basis, work directly with the accounting team to ensure AR reports are up-to-date and accurate, correcting any discrepancies or late payments.

• Process event close out checks on the night of or the following morning of each event.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 4 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar setting in restaurants or food and beverage.

• Must have Tripleseat experience.

• Must be capable of working in a team-oriented environment to achieve the hotel’s common goal of guest satisfaction.

• Positive, engaging, and energetic personality.

• Must be personable with guests and be able to anticipate their needs.

• Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.

• Very high attention to detail

• Sensitive to cultural nuances

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English. Multi-lingual is a plus.

• Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.

• Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders.

• Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies.

• Ability to carry, push, and pull up to 30 lbs; standing, bending and lifting may be required.

• Must be able to take constructive criticism and work well in a team dynamic.

• Must have full schedule availability
