Job description

Overview

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit's Commercial Business Units ("Spirit Commercial"). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing's three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial's core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminium manufacturing solutions.

The Role: On a typical day, but not limited to, the Supplier Quality First Level Manager is responsible for a team of Supplier Quality Representatives (SQR) who oversee the performance and quality of Spirit Suppliers globally. This team is responsible for quality of product through the life cycle of the products which includes on-boarding, First Part Qualification, Sourcing of Product, First Article Inspection and Investigation of Discrepancies.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Consistent discipline across suppliers, management and procurement job families and apply specialized technical expertise for problem resolution
  • Meets deadlines of supplier audits, discrepancy resolution and Supplier Improvement Initiatives
  • Works cross-functionally with internal and external customers and suppliers and all employee levels to carry out responsibilities
  • Responsible for the day to day performance management baseline, including establishing the programs organization and work breakdown structures; reporting, visibility and communication of strategic and operational program activities necessary to achieve defined program objectives and business plans
  • Reporting program performance and maintaining program communication plan

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality of Supply Chain role
  • Experience in Supplier Quality Management/Supply Chain Management
  • Experience working with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Experience with customer flow down requirements

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience in a leadership/management position
  • Knowledge of Boeing or Rolls Royce products
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and EASA requirements
  • Experience in Aerospace
  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Experience working with multiple cross functional groups
  • Experience with project management
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) as it pertains to Government Contract Compliance and/or Government Procurement, including Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA)
  • Governance and Compliance background including experience with AS9100 or other external audits
  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP or other industry certification
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • SAP experience

Summary Pay Range: $100,750 - $154,500
