AVE is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Interior Design Coordinator to support the interior design needs of an assigned portfolio of communities, primarily in the Northern New Jersey, Tampa, and White Plains markets. Reporting to the Suite Operations & Design Manager, this role is responsible for coordinating and executing a variety of interior design projects, including amenity space upgrades, community enhancements, and more.

The Interior Design Coordinator will also lead the staging and styling of spaces for professional photography, drone footage, and video productions, ensuring every community reflects AVE's elevated brand standards and best-in-class resident experience. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career designer to gain hands-on experience in multifamily interior design while contributing to projects that directly shape the look and feel of AVE's communities.

The ideal candidate possesses a strong eye for design, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive, positive attitude. They are eager to learn, thrive in a collaborative team environment, and are committed to delivering thoughtful, high-quality design solutions that will support AVE's continued growth nationwide.

This position will be 100% in office at one of our locations in the Greater Philadelphia area, with local travel within the PA, NJ, and NY markets up to 50% of the time and travel to all AVE locations nationwide up to 30% of the time based on business need.

Responsibilities

  • Activate the brand sensory experience at all existing and future AVE communities and drive a sophisticated design aesthetic nationwide
  • Own the interior design needs for an assigned portfolio of communities, focusing primarily on the Northern New Jersey, Tampa, and White Plains markets
  • Manage design projects from start to finish throughout assigned markets, including amenity upgrades and property enhancements, ensuring the brand's sensory experience and visual standards are met at every community
  • Take ownership of staging from start to finish for photo shoots, drone footage, and video shoots, including shopping for accessories, arranging furniture, and ensuring spaces are camera-ready
  • Learn and help maintain AVE's furnished suite standards as they relate to furniture placement, design, and in suite amenities
  • Walk furnished suites on a regular basis to ensure brand standards are being met
  • Assist the Suite Operations & Design Manager with capital renovation projects to enhance amenities, furnished suite installations, model installations, and other community initiatives nationwide as needed
  • Build relationships with AVE brand leadership and the on-site teams through regular visits to the communities
  • Ensure all projects are on time for delivery and completion as well as within budget by creating and maintaining project schedules and budget documentation
  • Research and follow industry changes, evolutions, and best practices by visiting marketplace competitors and staying connected to top design trends in each market
  • Assist with all ordering and delivery for furniture, accessories, and design needs
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Attend industry trade shows with the Suite Operations & Design Manager as requested

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a design studio, architectural firm, or similar (can include internship experience)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and Photoshop required
  • Experience or working knowledge in multifamily and commercial interior design, including space planning, FF&E selection, and project coordination
  • Experience or working knowledge of interpreting construction drawings and creating floor plans, elevations, construction documents, and 3D renderings
  • Strong eye for design, with experience creating design boards, selecting finishes and materials, and a willingness to learn and consistently apply AVE's interior design style across all projects
  • Ability to think critically and solve design challenges by balancing functionality, aesthetics, budget, and project requirements
  • Hands-on interior design/prop styling experience, including prior experience personally staging rooms and scenes with furniture, decor, and props for photo and video shoots
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to partner effectively across operations, marketing, and development teams
  • High level of detail orientation
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and vendors simultaneously across a national portfolio
  • Must have reliable source of transportation for required property visits
  • Ability to lift, push or pull up to 25 to 50 lbs., bending, stretching unassisted when fulfilling staging and furniture arranging responsibilities
