Job description

The Manager, Fleet Finance is responsible for leading cross-functional projects, change management initiatives, training programs, analytics/reporting, and issue/request triage in support of the Fleet Finance organization. This role serves as a key connector between Fleet Finance Operations, Finance Technology, IT, Financial Planning & Analysis, and other business partners to ensure projects and process changes are effectively prioritized, implemented, communicated, and adopted across the fleet.

This position leads the planning and execution of Fleet Finance initiatives, including process improvements, system enhancements, AI enablement, reporting optimization, training deployment, and project intake governance. The role is responsible for translating business needs into clear project requirements, coordinating stakeholder alignment, supporting testing and implementation readiness, developing fleet-facing communication and training materials, and monitoring adoption after go-live.

The role also supports the Fleet Finance leadership team through data analytics, dashboards, reporting, and insights that help identify trends, risks, process gaps, and opportunities for improvement. The position focuses on enabling scalable, standardized, and technology-supported solutions that improve the effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency of Fleet Finance processes across the fleet.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead Fleet Finance projects and transformation initiatives from intake through implementation, including defining scope, documenting business requirements, coordinating project plans, tracking milestones, managing risks/issues, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring deliverables are completed in support of Fleet Finance priorities.

  • Lead change management and fleet-wide enablement efforts for new processes, systems, tools, policies, and reporting changes impacting Fleet Finance. Develop communication plans, stakeholder updates, readiness materials, training guides, job aids, and adoption support to ensure successful deployment across shipboard and shore-side teams.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance Fleet Finance analytics, dashboards, reports, scorecards, and business insights. Use data to identify trends, recurring issues, process gaps, risks, adoption challenges, and opportunities to improve Finance processes, controls, compliance, and decision-making.

  • Serve as the central triage point for Fleet Finance project requests, process improvement ideas, reporting needs, system enhancement requests, and escalated business issues submitted by Fleet Finance operations teams. Evaluate requests, clarify business impact, determine priority, route to the appropriate owner or project channel, and track resolution or next steps.

  • Partner with Finance Technology, IT, Financial Planning & Analysis, and other stakeholders to support system enhancements, testing, release readiness, user acceptance testing, change impact assessments, and implementation of technology-enabled solutions.

  • Support AI enablement and digital transformation within Fleet Finance by identifying practical use cases, promoting responsible adoption of AI-enabled tools, developing guidance and training, supporting pilot initiatives, and helping teams leverage automation, analytics, and emerging technologies to improve productivity and decision-making.

  • Serve as an internal consultant to Fleet Finance leadership and business partners by translating operational pain points into actionable project plans, process improvements, reporting solutions, training needs, or technology requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned and adhere to Corporate Policies and Procedures, including Code of Conduct, audit procedures, and control-related responsibilities for financial data entered, stored, analyzed, or reported through business systems within the employee's control.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Scope: Manages Shoreside personnel. Collaborate with both Shoreside and Shipboard.

  • Problem-solving: Analyzes complex business issues, project requests, reporting needs, and process gaps to determine root causes, business impact, priority, and recommended path forward. Translates ambiguous operational challenges into structured requirements, action plans, analytics, training materials, or project workstreams.

  • Impact: Improves Fleet Finance effectiveness by enabling successful project delivery, strengthening adoption of new processes and tools, improving visibility through data and reporting, supporting AI and automation opportunities, and creating a more consistent approach to issue triage and request management.

  • Leadership: Leads through influence, project coordination, stakeholder alignment, and change management rather than direct operational supervision. Guides cross-functional project teams, facilitates decision-making, supports training and adoption, and promotes accountability across stakeholders. Demonstrates strong ownership of issues from intake through resolution or appropriate handoff.

For all roles:

  • Knowledge: Understanding of workplace policies and procedures / Familiarity with team collaboration tools and techniques.

  • Skills: Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Abilities: Ability to maintain reliable and consistent attendance / Capacity to be punctual and meet deadlines / Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team / Demonstrated professionalism in all interactions and tasks.

Essential/Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Informatics, or related field required.

  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification required.

  • Proven experience with Agile methodology: Scrum, Kanaban or Scaled Agile (SAFe).

  • Hands on experience with project management tools like Jira, AzureDevOps.

  • Proven experience leading the adoption, implementation, and business integration of AI-enabled technologies, including identifying use cases, developing business requirements, managing change, training end users, and measuring adoption and business outcomes.

  • Data Analytics background or experience.

Essential experience required:

  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management, Data Analytics, Systems Implementation, or related business enablement roles.

  • Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects, process improvement initiatives, system enhancements, testing, change management.

  • Experience developing business requirements, project plans, executive updates, training materials, process documentation, reporting tools, dashboards, or analytical insights.

  • Experience working with business and technology stakeholders to prioritize requests, resolve issues, assess impacts, and support implementation readiness.

  • Experience influencing stakeholders, gaining alignment, managing competing priorities, and communicating effectively with operational, technical, and leadership audiences.

  • Experience with financial systems, reporting tools, Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Automate, SQL Developer, Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, and AI-enabled productivity tools preferred.
