VP/General Manager – Artificial Turf Supply

Base pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $165,000.00/yr.

Location: Carlsbad, CA.

Position Overview

The Vice President (General Manager) is responsible for leading all operational, sales, and logistics functions for the organization. This role will define and execute national sales strategies, oversee all 3PL distribution and fulfillment operations, and ensure inventory accuracy and efficiency across the network. This role will lead and develop high‑performing teams, optimize processes, and uphold a best‑in‑class customer experience. As a key senior leader, they drive revenue growth, operational excellence, and cross‑functional alignment to support the company’s long‑term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day‑to‑day and long‑term leadership across sales, operations, customer service, and logistics.
  • Develop annual strategic plans supporting growth targets, margin goals, and operational efficiency.
  • Build, manage, and mentor internal teams to meet individual and departmental KPIs.
  • Establish and maintain an accountable, performance‑driven culture.
  • Develop and execute national sales strategies for B2B, wholesale, contractors, and distribution partners.
  • Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and territory performance.
  • Evaluate and optimize pricing models, national account programs, and promotional strategies.
  • Strengthen relationships with key customers, distributors, and supply partners.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the turf and landscape sector.
3PL & Distribution Operations
  • Oversee all third‑party logistics (3PL) relationships, performance, SLAs, and cost efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across warehousing, freight, inventory control, and nationwide distribution.
  • Ensure fulfillment accuracy, on‑time delivery, and cost‑effective transportation solutions.
  • Improve operational workflows to reduce lead times and enhance scalability.
Operational Oversight
  • Manage P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and margin optimization.
  • Oversee procurement, supply chain performance, and vendor relationships.
  • Implement operational systems, processes, and SOPs to support multi‑location scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Customer Experience & Quality
  • Ensure high standards of product quality, fulfillment accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead resolution of escalated customer issues and operational challenges.
  • Partner with marketing and customer service to optimize the end‑to‑end customer journey.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years leadership experience in operations, supply chain, distribution, building materials, turf, or related industries.
  • Proven experience managing national sales teams or channels.
  • Deep experience with 3PL management and multi‑location distribution operations.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with P&L responsibility.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational development skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment.

Physical Activities

Daily activity includes but is not limited to: lifting, carrying, sitting, grasping, reaching, standing, kneeling, walking, bending, twisting, prolonged periods sitting at a desk, reading, communication, math.
